Under the new ownership of this establishment, the revisions they made is a huge upgrade in comparison with the prior proprietor.Moreover, in all honesty the current menu is really good and one can tell they care about what their place serves since all menu items seem to be handled with passion in conjunction with care , considering their made-to-order vision that completely works on all facets .Therefore, I normally order carry out from here but, I dined in yesterday and this place doesn’t disappoint since the service was great!Subsequently, I normally order the Monte Carlo sandwich which is very delicious but, this time I ordered their patty melt which the burger was very tasty and the fries were good just as well. Plus, you also get various choices with regards to the sides they offer; and to top it off a choice of soup or salad . Thus, I decided to try the side salad which was made up of a fresh spring mix that I prefer. Consequently, the standout was their house-made dressing dubbed as the cilantro lime vinaigrette . It was so tasty that I was positively ranting about it with the server and the owner where I told them they should bottle it where I would definitely purchase a case of that delicious loveliness in a NY minute!However, the only negative pertaining to my patty melt that it was overcooked but still good .Overall, my dining experience was a definite plus where even the owner visited my table and she was very hospitable.Furthermore , I work in the restaurant industry in Chicago, and to be quite honest , there is only one other place ( a breakfast joint located on Williams St.) in the downtown area of Crystal Lake that care what they present since they embody high-tier quality. Needless to indicate their prices are economically affordable unlike any of the restaurants that is located near the Crystal Lake Metra Station. In other words ,the current owners of Cafe Olympic are very in tune with concocting a very eclectic fresh ingredient menu, which is why this place stands out among their competitors.Thank you Cafe Olympic , and I will be definitely returning.
Great food in a classic diner. Selections from classic to contemporary. Great service and love the music (good 80's, which is my main jam).
This place is great! We always take home a giant cinnamon roll anytime we come. It’s become a fall tradition to get the apple one now too! Be wary, as it does get decently crowded on weekends, and as it’s on a corner, parking will always be a short walk away. Most of the wait staff are friendly, and a joy to have!
Delicious entrees, vegan chili, and Chicken quesadilla were very good. Great service, fun music, clean. Parking is easy-cute stores nearby.
I give restaurants what I call the 3 - XXX rule. I come in at random times and test the waters. 3 strikes, you won't see me again, and a bad review follows. Very very rarely do I hand out 5 stars across the board. Well, this place at 3 different times has succeeded in consistency and service. Congrats! I will be coming back again and again.
Cafe Olympic is amazing! Rachel and Rosie are warm and welcoming. Their passion comes through in the way they treat their customers and their dedication to serving amazing food.
This has to be the friendliest staff we have come across in a while. The food is good, the vibe is cheerful and youthful, and almost every employee we saw had a friendly greeting for us. My only complaint is that the booths are a bit small (or more likely, it's the ME that's a bit large). It was our first visit but we'll definitely be back.
First time going here….the wait was like 40 min. for breakfast and we got there when they opened 8am on Sat. It’s a small place with quality food, so maybe it’s expected. The food was pretty good and prices were average. Sausage links were good. Likely we’ll be back
We LOVE Olympic! Great atmosphere, amazing staff, and even more amazing food! Had the old school dinner feel, with high quality food! If something sounds a little weird, order it, it’s going to be an excellent mix of flavors you would have never put together yourself!
Our favorite little local cafe! Great location right on the corner. Very friendly staff. All the food is delicious and served quickly! Lots of vegetarian and vegan options.
