As someone who loves food and small community restaurants, I have to say with a heavy heart that some places simply thrive on the fact they are the only decent place around. El Meson is a perfect example... I've been in the restaurant industry for some time and service is a huge part of creating that experience one will continue coming back for. I inquired about a nonalcoholic option and was given a rude answer I figured maybe it was out of the question to order a michelada made with topo chico. Then I inquired about the sizes of the cóctel de camaron and once more I was given a rude response. I do not drink but Boy! Can I eat!! I ended up eating just a shrimp quesadilla and I must say it was delicious!!!! But i will definitely not be coming back because the service was absolutely atrocious... No matter how good the food is... Maybe I'll just order to go.
Service has gone down very much lately I was just in there on Sunday. I waited a very long time to be seated and then the lady got an attitude with me saying that she didn't know that how many people were it was only three of us she thought I was standing there waiting with the big group and I wasn't. Then when they were able to bring us our food the food came to us cold I ordered extra food for my kids it took them over a half hour for them to bring it. Even though it was just one small gordita. The waitress not once came to our table to ask us how I was doing or if we needed anything I had to stop the bus boy to ask for a glass of water. Service here was horrendous when we got to pay the owner had the audacity to ask me if everything was okay I spoke to you during my meal and you still had to ask me was my meal okay I was upset. I will not be returning to you guys I could have tipped you but service was horrible and there was no need to Tip what they should have done was took off money because our food was cold they forgot stuff and they got our orders wrong..

I came today to have dinner with my Family,food was delicious but late,my coffee too and my wife's taco as well.I did not appreciate the fact that my waitress was sweeping and mopping while we were eating.If they can provide better service and be responsible by not to contaminate the air while sweeping when costumers are present I'm definitely coming back.
This place was great they served us quick even though they were almost going to close server was kind and friendly and food was great!
In a time where everyone else seems to be raising their prices while lowering quality, El Meson isn't messing around. Quality and price are still valid here. Don't waste your time going elsewhere for Mexican food.I've lived in this area for half my life and had never been here. Carne asada torta was the best I've ever had! Steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly and chopped to a great size. Bread was buttered and toasted to crispy perfection. Not too much sour cream; just right. Sliced tomatoes and lettuce were fresh. And surprised by the included avocado which I've never seen included - its usually always extra.The price was great at $8. This is the only place around here that I'm getting Mexican food from moving forward.
Have been here several times since they opened. Always great service, and outstanding dishes. Amazing cocktails!!
If your looking for a spicy menudo on a Saturday morning. This is your place. I haven't found a better tasting menudo yet.
