First time at this location. I wanted to treat myself to breakfast at a restaurant instead of going to a fast food place. They probably have better options available, but unfortunately what I ordered wasn't IT for me.I ordered the Strawberry Orange juice, when I seen the waitress bring that kid size cup of juice I thought she was joking. It's freshly squeeze, but with one gulp it's gone (>_<)I seen that they have Biscuits and Gravy and I LOVE biscuits and gravy - when it's done right. I ordered it because how can you mess up biscuits and gravy? Baby listen, I wish I would've ordered something else. The texture was just wrong, it felt like I was eating pancakes. Biscuits should be dry and have texture, I want to choke while I eat a biscuit. There was no crunch on any bite I had on the biscuit, with eggs on top it just felt mushy all around.I would give it a 4/10 for the Biscuits and Gravy.Would I go back? Sure if a tinder date would pay for my food yea. And never talk to them again for taking me to Yolk (o.0) Yolk, you disappointed me. And maybe someone else who decides to ignore my review.
Was blessed to bring my son here for a birthday breakfast date, thanks to one of my clients. The atmosphere is nice considering it's connected to a train station. No complaints on the food.- Huge dining area with only one restroom stall for women... for men too.- Was seated quickly, but there was a bit of a wait for food (again, huge dining - bar, booths and tables), but we're patient and have great conversation like that!
It was a good brunch. We ordered chillaquiles(3 out of 5) and iron man omlette (3/5)What we liked:AmbienceThe pancakes were very very goodLatteCould have been better:Our food did not have any salt
Most amazing food I’ve ever had in my entire life! The salted Carmel coffee was to dieeeee for. Highly recommend the banana nut bread french toast it was AMAZING. Service was very quick and our server was very nice. highly recommend this place to anybody!
I met a long time friend and her family for breakfast. Mind you, this is my first experience dining at Yolk. And boy, I was impressed with the food and service. Also, the prices are reasonable. So, I will return. If you are looking to have a great breakfast experience, Yolk is the place!!
We love Yolk! We are from South Bend Indiana, this is by far our favorite breakfast spot in Chicago! Each dish is unique which you don’t find at most breakfast joints. Highly recommend 5 stars!
The ambiance is really good. They have a good variety of menu for breakfast or brunch. The waitress was polite and brought everything with perfection.I really loved the eggs, the strawberry refresher thing and the strawberry french toast. They were really good.Odd thing was my potatoes were undercooked. That was the only problem. Everything else was up-to the mark here.
Great food great staff. Amber is an amazing server. I had her at the wicker park location last summer. So they clearly have good inner staff workings.Great breakfast food. It's right next to union station in a big kinda mall/lobby for the metra station there.BYOB so you can bring champagne that goes great with their strawberry OJ.The Mexican scrambler (not sure if that was the name) was amazing and the banana nut French toast was GOD MODE!!!Wish they had alcohol and a little more diversity in the menu. But I get it Yolk=Egg
The atmosphere provided for a pleasant dine in experience. In terms of the portions and price you are going to be paying a little bit more than you should in my opinion. However, it is definitely something that will fill you up and help you stay powered up for the day's journey while you explore Chicago. The latte was also delicious. My recommendation would be to either get coffee or get water because the sizes for cups on juices are a poor excuse for drinking standards. Truly the small size fits In the palm of your hand. Literally toddler size lol other than that I would recommend to stop.
3 blocks from Union Station. Worth the walk, even with luggage. House hot sauce is well made. I will definitely go back. The chorizo is well done. Not the best ever but very good.
