Ate breakfast here a few weeks ago and overall had a pleasant experience. The crepes they had were too sweet for my taste (like chocolaty syrup sweet). I also wish the test kitchen menu they had online was the same menu served at the restaurant. I had tea with my meal and I loved that our server brought out a timer for steeping.
Good place! Never noticed it before because I’m usually focused on the Aldo next door. Not enough places in this area are open early so I appreciate the 7am open! French toast was sooooo yummy and good portion sizes.

While in Chicago on vacation we had an excellent breakfast at the Yolk test kitchen. We ate a vegetarian burrito and a veggie omelette, both delicious. The staff are super friendly. I would definitely go back for more!!!
Interesting menu, off the beaten path. Certainly if you are adventurous the menu here might tickle your fancy. We got things there were a miss for us, but maybe you'll have better luck!
I absolutely love this Yolk. I actually even prefer their waffles compared to the others. I will definitely be back to try the mini donuts and scotch egg...
This is my first time at the “Test Kitchen” location and in my opinion I liked them better than the standard locations because it really show cases their menu and let’s them get away from the traditional menu items.

We enjoyed a lovely meal here. The wait person was delightful - attentive, but never overbearing. The food was also very tasty! I had one of the Chicken & Waffle dishes - this one with jalapeño, cheddar cheese, honey, and maple syrup. It was an unexpected, but delicious combination. We look forward to returning soon!
This was our first time hearing about and going to the Yolk Test Kitchen and we’ll definitely be back. This is where they test out new menu items before they go to their regular restaurants. Dope concept, good food and great staff.
