Everything was ok. Pad see ew was very sweet. Even my kids complained it was too sweet. Staff is friendly and place is clean.
This restaurant is absolutely amazing. Staff is welcoming and the food is delicious. The sushi, rice bowls, noodles, and literally everything else is so good. Prices are awesome for the quality. I’ve been eating here for the last year and it is mine and my bfs favorite spot and we have not found sushi better than it is here. I would give this more than 5 stars if I could!
I had an exceptional experience here during lunch with my kids. My 6 year old daughter, who is reserved about new food experiences, got it in her mind that she wanted to try sushi one afternoon. My only criteria in looking for a lunch spot was that it opened early and served sushi, so we landed at Yatai because they opened at 11:30am. I was so pleasantly surprised at how good the sushi was, but beyond that how incredibly nice every single person who worked there was.The waitress (owner?) was very friendly with my daughter and son in a way that is above and beyond normal service. She was very adept at talking with little kids, and so easily understood what my daughter wanted to order, which made my little girl feel really special. When the food came out, the kids were served on the most adorable little cat plates and had kid-friendly training chopsticks. They even gave my kids special cute dinosaur napkins. When my kids wanted to watch the sushi being made, the man behind the counter was equally cheerful and friendly. Lastly, everything was affordable. I can't wait to go back!
Yatai is the ultimate hidden gem in Edgewater/Rogers Park. Delicious food at an extremely reasonable price. The food comes out very quickly as well. Try the pineapple fried rice and crab rangoon!Yatai is BYOB
Came in a little bit late. They are open up to 10pm. Good option for to go and dine-in as most restaurants close around 8:30pm and 9pm. Large portions for the price. Got the bibimbap and karaagedon. It was good!
The Bibimbap is so flavorful. The sushi ? shrimp tempura had good texture. This is a great spot to stop after you reach the Lake Shore trail head.
I have passed by this place, and never noticed. I went in for an lunch on a Monday, and it was fairly busy. Friendly staff. My friend and I had Ramon, both tasty. Watched others, many had sushi, and everyone seemed happy.
Loved it. Homely feeling. Prices are very reasonable. Got the bibimbap with tofu. Great choice if you're a vegetarian. Definitely recommend to anyone
Great service & delicious inexpensive food that was fresh & flavorful. There was only one host, who was also our waitress but she made sure we had everything we needed. The Thai basil fried rice was my favorite.
I have tried many of their dishes. Good food and service is very good and attentive.
