Wishbone started in the West Loop long, long before most other places that exist in the area today, and they used to have other locations. Their current West Loop location is newer and it's now the only one. This Cajun inspired restaurant has great breakfast dishes like a Jambalaya Omelet and Crunchy French Toast (that is crunchy and delicious). Sides and a corn muffin come with most dishes and you've got a choice of cheesy grits, collard greens, and a number of other southern style sides. There's a full bar and a fun, mostly fruity, specialty drink list. They keep the coffee coming, service has always been good, and the menu offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The only downside is that the dining room is pretty noisy and often has large groups.
Went here for chicago restaurant week!! The food was so wonderful and so was the service. A beautiful vibe. Lamb shank was so good. Suffice to say I was in a food coma afterwards!
Small restaurant with really good vibes especially for a nice brunch. The wait during weekends is pretty long but totally worth it. We had quite a few dishes and the stand out was the shrimp and grits. I would highly recommend this restaurant. They had pretty good mimosas too!
The food was outstanding. The sweet mashed potatoes with crushed pecans is an absolute must. And our server Yousef was knowledgeable, fast, and courteous with a very friendly personality.
great food and services will b back
Great food. Came here once a few yrs back. (the old locations) Glad to see the establishment thrive thru it all. Decor and atmosphere is like an old school diner. Waiter was attentive and nice. I enjoy the visit.
Best breakfast ever! Fast service! Thank you !
Casual dining, nice for quick meal. Affordable, really nice staff. I enjoyed the crab beignets. Sooo good!
Went almost everyday during my trip to Chicago in October. Very friendly staff , good food, and in a good location in the loop. I tried the Cajun shrimp and grits, the catfish, regular breakfast platter with turkey bacon. The food is sooooo good !4 stars instead of 5 because of the mimosas. They all tasted fine but they don’t fill the glass up. I mentioned this to the staff and they said it’s the “Midwest” way but proceeded to fill the persons glass next to me all the way up .Would definitely go back and I have recommended this place to others
Wow. Had a peach mimosa, Chicken Andouille Hash, and a half order of French toast. I left no crumbs and it was probably the best French toast I've had in my life. So good.
