Best Gyros and Italian Beef I’ve had in a long time. A table next to us had rib tips and some kind of chicken. They looked yummy. Staff are courteous, pleasant and the place, clean.
Very straight forward fast food joint. Order what you want no bs. The moment you interact with the cashier and cooks they all seem to have lived a thousand lives. Who are they? What’s their story? This place has remained the same for decades. You order, get a paper ticket, get your food, and get out.
Love grilled chicken breast on a pita. Good menu, fair prices. Guys taking orders and cooking are great.
Windy City Gyros is open until 2 am on Saturday. If, not just double check before you go. It says that they close at 11pm but, they were on after 11 pm. I got the gyros sandwich with fries...and the rib tops. It comes with fries, cold slaw and French bread. They do have a special for the gyros sandwich and ribs that comes with soup, salad and drink with any special. The food was good.
I ordered two gyros and ribs from this restaurant through Grub Hub. The driver left a bag outside of my door with two styrophome containers that literally had garbage in them. See photos when I contacted the restaurant, the manager began screaming at me and he said that I should contact Grub Hub if I had a problem with the order even though his restaurant prepared the order. Literally, they sent garbage! Half eaten chicken wings, fries with ketchup on them , etc. this is disgusting. The manager was an unprofessional and unstable Greek guy who literally screamed at me when I brought this to his attention. Stay away from this restaurant.
Food was just terrible plus portion size was small , frozen chicken patty ,no notes were followed for ingredients not worth the money at all
This place is amazing! Great place to order from in Chicago. My go-to for sure. Great food always. The best gyros around. Great delivery people. Love this place.
I go here often. Big things for newbies to be aware of.1)The line is often long and slow to order. It is still cheaper and as fast as ordering ahead of time, and your food will be fresher. So order in person, just bring your patience with you.2) The daily specials are BY FAR the best deal and often very good. If you choose salad instead of soup, specify that you want the DRESSING ON THE SIDE! Trust. Me.3) No matter what you order, know what you want before you get to the register. Speak loudly, slowly, and clearly. Otherwise you might end up with something you didn't order (mozzarella sticks instead of cheesecake, etc).4) They will hand you a strip of paper with a number on it. You MUST NOT lose this piece of paper. They will call your number when your food is ready, and you will exchange the ticket for your food. It may be your only verification when they're busy and will cause a significant delay if lost.5) Stand or sit as far away from the counter as possible while still being within earshot when waiting. Otherwise you may be in the way or have too many strangers accidentally brush against you and that's nasty.6) Don't forget dessert!
Would not advise ordering here late at night, they fail to fulfill orders. Not being able to meet orders is understandable, things happen that are out of anyones control. But there's no reason to make someone wait 40 minutes on food they're expecting, when there are other options. Would advise ordering from Mcdonald's before ordering here, at least there you know your order will be fulfilled.
I've been going to Windy City Gyros for years and I've always loved the people there are friendly the food is good and it's just a good experience.
