Reliable tasty and filling food. Service has been great and everyone that I’ve talked to so far has been very kind. Their curly fries are probably the best fries in the area and worth trying out the place alone. A great variety of food items that will keep you coming back to try something new. I would say that the only thing would be to add some more items like pasta or wings if possible.
When you arrive you'll probably receive warm greetings from the owner (he has really cool tattoos).My first time here and he recommended many gelato flavors. He also gave me many samples to try. You can taste the fresh ingredients and I really like a lot of the flavors. I ended up with pistachios and Nutella scoops but I also like espresso, and Jameson flavors.It's a little sweet overall but with so many flavors to choose from, you'll find what you like. Also they have great Italian ice. Will give it a try next time.
Jumping Jesus on a pogo stick. This is hands down one of the best hotdogs I’ve had in the city and I’ve been trying them all. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and seemed genuinely stoked to be making my dog. Got the regular Chicago dog and the ripper — a Chicago dog but deep fried. The owner told me about it right before they closed for the season last year and I waited until they just reopened to have one. Well worth the wait. The snap on the ripper is an added layer of nuance that doesn’t interfere with the classic Chicago dog taste. On top of that each dog was made with a lot of care — the tomatoes, pickles and peppers placed purposefully and finished with just enough celery salt. Get Vinnie’s dogs and have a great day. It’s worth it.
I'm going to just guess that the guy I talked to was Vinny. He was friendly and amped for me because this was the first Italian Beef sandwich that every graced my gullet. I've got to say it set an unrealistic standard for what I should be getting every time and I can't wait to visit again.April 29th can't come soon enough.
You should not miss this place. I went here to buy something to eat. I've known this place for a while and their food is really good and authentic Italian like their shaved ice and gelato. They also have menu of different sandwiches options including hot dogs. The staff in here is friendly and would always greet every customer and of course happily which is really nice. I personally love their Italian cookie gelato, I am a fan of their shaved ice but their gelato is definitely better in my opinion. I ordered an Italian beef with spicy giardiniera and a cup of Italian cookie gelato. Service in here is quick. I got my food and seat on their available seats outside. The Italian beef is hot and I like it. It is freshly cooked, flavorful and the spicy giardiniera really kicks and added to the delicious taste of it. The Italian cookie gelato is a perfect pair to the Italian beef. It was a quick bite and it was so good, delicious and definitely satisfying.
Every single item at this place is worth trying. From the shaved ice to the gelato.. down to the most flavorful italian beef sandwich I have ever had. VinnyD's is a must try and #1 on my list for supporting local business.
I visited my favorite Italian beef place in Chicago !! I was sad to hear they have to close up during winter time !!!!!! A place this good has no reason to close during winter !!!!! I’ve visited here a good 15 times this past year and I challenge anyone to find a better tasting beef!? I’m officially on a beef strike until you re open !
I love ice cream and have a very rare severe allergy. The owner called the gelato maker personally to check the ingredients. First place I can have every flavour offered! I come all the time now, love the Banana Fudge and Strawberry Chip.
Vinny the owner is welcoming and nice.I had the deep fried polish with fries and cantaloupe shaved ice. Enjoyed everything and waiting to go back to try the Italian beef.
Got a medium cup with sea salt caramel and chocolate. The scoops were HUGE (couldn't even finish half of it) and it was absolutely delicious!! Some of the best gelato I've had in the city and great price for what you get. All of the workers were very friendly!
