Came for the weekend from Philly to visit my friend and she brought me to this little shop. It looked so cute and quaint from the outside, and I was really excited to explore. I have a service dog who is trained to sit at my feet and apply pressure when I am having a panic attack. She has been to hundreds of restaurants, public spaces (museums, theaters, etc.), doctor’s offices, and has ridden on all forms of transportation (planes—how I got here—buses, Ubers, trains, etc.) without any issue. In addition to all of this, she comes to work with me everyday. I am an elementary special education teacher in North Philadelphia. Needless to say, she is incredibly well-trained. She has been supporting me for the past 5 years, and has been to Chicago a few times already and had no issue. The man at the entrance seemed to question me when I said that she was a service dog and trained to sit at my feet. There is nothing in the ADA that states that I need to explain anything more to a stranger about my disability. However, he made me feel incredibly uncomfortable to the point that I left. I really hope that you can educate your staff more about service animals and people with disabilities. She was clearly labeled with a red vest that says “Service Dog,” yet I was still given a tough time. Very sad and disappointed to know that yet another ableist institution exists. Not all disabilities are visible.

I had a very embarrassing encounter with 2 employees,Scott and Sergio, at Totto’s Market today. I walked in and was immediately told to leave because no pets are allowed. I explained that my animal is a VA trained service animal. Scott then asked me what is he trained to do, I said to support me with my combat PTSD. Scott then told me to step outside, which I did not. Sergio then followed me around the store asking me several times what my service animal is trained to do and I told him numerous of times that he is trained to support me with my PTSD. Sergio continued to follow me around the store as I shopped. Scott stepped out of his cashier cube to watch me as well. I felt very uncomfortable in this establishment as I do not believe my service animal was the issue. Scott and Sergio were extremely rude and disrespectful and as a 2 combat tour veteran I do not deserve such treatment.

To the owner: add your business on Google Maps under searches for “food”.I’ve lived in this neighborhood for months now and had no idea you guys were open from 8am - 8pm every day and you had actual food like wraps, sandwiches, pastries, etc.I would rush to Jimmy John’s to get a sandwich at 5pm before they close when I’m already sick of their sandwiches. If I knew your business served actual food, I would have been going to you instead. Your sandwiches and soups are delicious.

Going to Totto's is a simple joy.It is a tidy space and the staff is very friendly. Some of the items are a little expensive, but worth it !They have a broad selection of high quality local/midwestern products. They constantly save my weeknight cooking efforts when I notice myself missing a key staple/something simple like cream. My only criticism is they used to make a great salsa, which is no longer available.Keep on toting. Totto-ing?

Great location to score cheap prices on groceries. Does not carry everything you need if looking for something specific or cultural but has most basic needs.

So much potential but falls far short. The pre-made food is decent but very expensive for what you get. They also try to sell sandwiches that are 4-5 days old, which is frankly ridiculous. The rotisserie chickens are way over cooked and dry albeit well seasoned. The grocery selection is unusually narrow and very specialized; zero organic produce, but lots of unusual potato chips and other unusual versions/brands/flavors of common items. I also don’t like that it’s cashless. The best part are the pastries they get delivered from a local bakery.

Literally my favorite store in Chicago (food)! Such luxurious items- yet affordable! Everything is either imported, or locally made. Everything IS however friggin delicious!!! It's a must visit!!! Fine quality foods only- just my tastes.

I lived it up shopping here and left away for certain extraordinary recollections. The product's precision is magnificent, and its quality is tantamount. Thank you kindly for the entirety of your diligent effort.
