First time here but, a true cut-above most hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Rooms are elegant yet, high-tech and, their housekeeping’s little touches are the difference maker.

We just completed a wonderful stay at The Peninsula Chicago. It’s a stunning hotel with over the top service from everyone that works there. The suite was spacious, extremely quiet and luxurious. They have truly thought of everything in preparing the room for guests. Dining both in restaurant and in room came with delicious food and excellent service. Highly recommend !

The continenal isn’t good. But egg benedict is sooo nice!!
We are planning our 3rd visit to the Peninsula Chicago for Christmas week. We moved from the Midwest to the West Coast and miss the Holiday lights and cheer back in our hometown - so we thought we’d spend a few days on Michigan Ave enjoying the lights and festivities. We booked an Executive Suite through AMEX Fine Hotels and Resorts and then wrote Maria Zec, The General Manager (who was very helpful on our last visit) to request our favorite room - or one on a similar floor. This was several weeks ago and we haven’t heard a word. We then sent a second email (with Max Schroeder cc’d on it). Nothing. Nada. Zip. Glutton for punishment, we sent a 3rd email and still haven’t heard back. I know it’s a difficult time for hotels, but not even an assistant could be bothered to respond to 3 emails in approximately 3 weeks for a simple room request? Sad that this is what service is like for loyal customers that are still making an effort to travel in the current circumstances. Also, I called the Concierge to ask which restaurants were open at the hotel on Tuesday/Wednesday, which apparently ruffled a feather or two (as one does when requesting restaurant info from concierge). He said the Z Bar and Chinese Restaurant were currently closed on those dates, but could open at anytime. When I asked if that was because of Covid, he snapped, “everything is not about Covid”. Um… ok. Just looking for a place to eat. We were so looking forward to being back “home” for the holidays and couldn’t be more disappointed in the service -before we’ve even arrived. We were planning on booking The Peninsula Paris (2nd visit) for our May trip and decided to go with La Reserve instead - as perhaps in “the new normal” large corporations are not the way to go for service in the luxury hotel market.

One of the best hotel experiences we have ever had. Incredibly clean. Super comfortable beds. Love the room layout. They had flexible check in when we needed to come in early for a surgery. Every single staff person has been outstanding - friendly and attentive. We actually looked forward to just coming back to the room and relaxing after a cold, windy walk around town.
