Lady was very rude to my husband I guess because he has an American wife but everyone else that came in she would Ile and laugh with them she show my husband bad attitude when he asked her a question, we had a 45 minute wait. When my husband went back in to check the food with out me she was nice to him and said she didn't want to loose he old customers. And she was sorry but she just lost new customers because we will never go back

The food is good but the owner attitude is poor, every time I go there she has an attitude and in order for me to get nice service I have to say my dad is African or he’s from Ghana. She becomes nice all of a sudden, I shouldn’t have to say any of that if I’m coming from the burbs to get good African food. I’ve been here five times and every time she had a attitude with her customers, but today is the last time I give her my money. She talks to Americans like we bothering her by asking question about the food. My step daughter wanted to try African food and she was giving us a hard time ordering food til I said my dad from Africa again. I wanted her to cater for my wedding but after my last visit she will no longer get my service .

So here is the thing:Many people will recommend this place if you are looking for a Ghanaian restaurant with decent food in Chicago. They are not exactly wrong. To their credit, the food is not bad. But the customer service leaves a lot to be desired:the woman in charge has an incredibly rude attitude that is very unattractive to patrons . She snaps at patrons when they ask simple questions. This is just a caution so that you don’t take too much offense when you go and she gives you an attitude. Just order your food, shut out her attitude and take your food home. And for your peace of mind: ORDER 30 MINUTES IN ADVANCE BEFORE YOU GO!!To be forewarned is to be forearmed.

I order from here almost weekly. By far one of the top West African restaurants in Chicago in terms of quality and quantity. I have tried a lot of different dishes and have enjoyed each one. Some orders have been a miss, as is the case with any other restaurant, and the owner can be a bit on the *cold* side as some other reviews have mentioned. But she’s also running the restaurant entirely by herself which can be stressful for anyone. The amazing food makes up for it for sure. If you’re looking to try West African cuisine this is the place to go.Pictured: Egusi Stew (Beef) and Motherland Combo w/ Jollof, Beef, and black eye pea sauce.

I love this place, I will continue to drive an hour just for this amazing food . Every time I come they never fail to satisfy me and my wife’s cravings. The staff is always so friendly and sweet. Really worth it! I promise.

I LOVE this place! One day I was searching on Uber eats and decided to give them a try. I ordered egusi and a few other things. It was amazing.Literally the best African food I’ve tasted so far.One time they messed my order up and sent me fish on a pile of rice instead of chicken and I didn’t even make a complaint to Uber. I decided to keep it and give it a try. Still amazing! They have a true customer in me for life.

This place is really awesome! I love their service and the community of people that thrive inside the building. Not to mention the food! The food is stellar. I havent had much Ghanaian food, but I can safely say this stuff rocks. My partner and i eat from here at least once a month. If you're new to African cuisine, I recommend starting with the jerk chicken. It's a great way to ease yourself in with enough familiarity while still giving you new flavor combos.

I recently moved to Chicago and this is my favorite place to get Ghanaian food. The food is really amazing and flavorful and the lady is kind and wonderful. This place is a gem and it gives me home away from home vibes. I love it there

I wish I could give 0 stars because 1 is generous. The woman taking orders had a disturbingly rude attitude. I just walked out without my food because the behavior was so appalling. It was as if my being there was an inconvenience. I wasn’t even given a menu. Others had also been waiting there almost 2hrs with no update on their order so it doesn’t seem worth it. African businesses need to stop treating customers like this. Let’s get it together
