The main reason why I would give this place 2 stars instead of 1 is because they have a dog friendly patio. We ordered the bbq pork sliders, the buns were hard as rocks and stale. The BBQ sauce was not good whatsoever. For dinner, we ordered medium rare steak fries, they came well done and were not even edible. At $32 for steak and French fries, one would expect a better experience. Plus the waitress never came back to check on us to see that our food was bad.

Had a wonderful experience here before going to a concert at the Athenaeum down the street. We started with fried pickles and brussel sprouts which I highly recommend. Then had the artisanal grilled cheese (with bacon of course) and tomato soup, which was the perfect comfort food that I needed. They also have a nice selection of local beers on tap and a fun list of cocktails as well. Our server was also incredible!! Super attentive, kind, and gave great recommendations. Will be back for sure!

I enjoyed my meal. The restaurant is very spacious. Clean bathrooms. Fast service.Paying was a headache, they use a device that makes you able to split the check but it wasn't at all intuitive.

This place is incredible. My friends and I came here because Bird's Nest was packed and we were starving. To our surprise, the food and drinks were amazing. Highly exceeded our expectations.

Excellent service , terrific atmosphere . Forget what it looks like on the outside…Warm , inviting, inside. Food really good, especially the fish and chips, cheese curds, and tapenade.. Only better neighborhood joint in West Lakeview - Side Street Saloon….

I’m so thankful my friend took me here! On a cold snowy Friday, this place was warm and cozy — and not just because of the cute fireplace seating area — but because of the charm and exposed brick. The food was really good: definitely try the cheese curds — perfection! I ordered the pot pie as my entree, flavor was awesome but seemed a little under cooked (hoping it was just a fluke). I tried my friends braised pork ragu, and it was awesome.Lastly, I’ll leave you with a funny story:As I mentioned, I ordered pot pie ? for dinner, and was given a very big spoon (pictured). I knew something felt off as the spoon was scrapping both edges of my mouth (you should picture Joker from Batman… that’s how I felt). After a couple bites, I made what felt like a semi-embarrassing ask, if they had smaller spoons? The bartender didn’t blink an eye, and proceeded to the server station behind me, and I heard her digging through all the silverware. A minute later, she returns with two additional spoons… a “soup” spoon and a “normal” spoon. I immediately had so many questions…- Why are there so many options?- Why is a serving spoon in rotation for customer entree dishes?- Do people request serving spoons normally? No matter the answers, I was happy with my new spoon options (I chose the soup spoon), and enjoyed my pot pie! ?The end. ?

$15 bottomless mimosas every Sunday!! And the fried pickles are delicious!!

Great atmosphere and the staff are lots of fun and attentive. The brussel sprouts, fried pickles, and bread pudding were my favorites of the night. The pasta and noodles with my chicken piccata were a little overcooked, but definitely a fun spot for locals.

Good service and cocktails. Could use more monkeys!

I had a great experience Thursday 12/16 evening for dinner. Our food was delicious (we got the meatballs appetizer, loaded potato soup, grilled romaine salad, and grilled cheese!) our waiter was very personable and attentive and was very quick when we asked for our entrees to actually be made to go since we were going to be late for our trivia hosting gig. highly recommend this cute place! easy free street parking within the block.
