High teaFood: 5/5Everything on the tea tower was amazing! The biscuits and jams/butter was also a highlight. Also for whatever reason, all the guests that day got an edible flower pot to take homeService: 5/5Impeccable service, friendly and attentive (not overly)Setting: 5/5The Lobby is such a nice venue! Beautiful

OHMMMMGEHHHHHH!!!!! This place is to die for?!!! I’m so glad my honey wanted to have breakfast in The Lobby!! Yessssssss, we stayed with them and finally decided to dine with them in The Lobby for breakfast!! The whole place is just beautiful, and when I say beautiful, I mean BEAUTIFUL!!!! From when we got here, to checking in, and to dining with them.We had breakfast with them Saturday May 14, 2022. We got seated by a window table and was offered coffee right away. Our waiter was very attentive and showed cared for my #jbabes food allergies. He did continue to water and coffee us down while we waited for our breakfast which came out right in time. My #jbabe had The Peninsula Breakfast and I had The Chinese Breakfast. They were both so amazing that we had it again the very next morning but in our room this time.Balls to the Walls Yalls, this 5⭐️ diamond hotel is CHICAGO!!!!! ???It is Chicago and The Peninsula, so expect the unexpected from them!!! We love you The Peninsula and The Lobby!! Can’t wait to see you guys again!! ??????

Do not miss when staying at the Peninsula. Fantastic great dining room. It is bright airy and very open. The menu is simple and easy to pick from. The lobster Benedict is amazing.

First timers at The Lobby and will definitely be back. We visited after checking out the Museum of Contemporary Art of Chicago. The atmosphere was a great mental break from the crowds and long lines after museums and shopping at the magnificent mile. I encourage you to check it out!

The food is what one would expect being in one of the top 5 star hotels in the country. We had the best avocado toast I have ever had as well as a lobster benedict with truffle shavings on a croissant that was out of this world. It was so lovely just to enjoy the decor, very art deco with chandeliers, high ceilings, silver sconces, beautiful pillars, marble and fresh giant flower bouquets.

UPDATE: Had an extraordinary round 2 at the Lobby. I should also note that Nicolas (one of the Lobby managers) is an absolute all-star and a gem at the hotel. This updated experience was the best we have had at any afternoon tea. A++. I have switched my review to 5 stars!—————————Very sad to write such a poor review for the Peninsula, more specifically, the high tea.I took my wife here today, because of how much she enjoys doing high tea around the city (and the Peninsula has always been one of her favorites).Unfortunately this time, we were both quite disappointed in the service. I should note, our server was super nice (which is why I am not including his name) and the food (mini sandwiches and desert) was outstanding which is why I did not do 1 star. After we were seated, we waited for 20 minutes before anyone came up to us to get our tea selections. By this time, all other tables had their tea and food towers coming out. The reason our tea order was eventually taken was because I got up and snagged a manager. To make matters worse, they were out of the 2 teas my wife and I wanted: Dreams and Fruit Garden, so we each selected a different tea. After another 20 minutes, our food Tower came out, which was indeed fantastic. However, after we finished all on the tower, we had to again snag someone to ask for a "refill" (allowed for high tea). That not only took quite a bit of time, but they only brought 1 each for 4 of the 5 sandwiches (the last we didn't get any). So, my wife and I had to split them. We were told it wasn't intentional, but they were just needing to make more in the kitchen (they ran out).Very sad all of this happened. Not a very positive experience, albeit, the food was good. Image is of the first tower that was full for 2 people (vs. refill that only had 1 of each due to the kitchen running out).

Great ambience, quality of food and service. The granola was my personal favorite.

Wonderful as always. We visited for our 7th annual Holiday Tea Time. Highly recommend making it a tradition.

The Lobby restaurant is located at The Peninsula hotel, on the upper part of the hotel lobby, and it is nowadays lavishly and colorfully decorated for the holiday season. The restaurant is very spacious, with very high ceilings, beautiful large windows, facing the distant skyline of the city. The decorations of the dining area are very attractive and quite stunning. The restaurant complies with all current sanitation regulations, staff were wearing masks, dining tables were placed distantly. The Lobby, as the hotel itself, is a 5-star luxury establishment, excelling in fine dining, and offering the choice of high-quality meals from the menu. King Salmon I had was delicious, as well as black rice, broccoli and clam cream. The size of the meal was perfect -- just plenty to enjoy, without feeling stuffed. A pot of high-quality tea with honey and lemon was also up to the classy standards of The Lobby. With all my satisfaction with the tasty meal and with the very festive ambiance of the restaurant, I can't give it the highest rating. It was the service -- spaced out, indifferent, and even snappy -- that tainted the whole experience. The food was served barely warm, and it took a while to serve it. Upon my request, it was immediately warmed up, but not by the server: he was busy elsewhere. This is not what you expect of a 5-star, high-priced restaurant. I would like to extend my thanks to the two managers of the restaurant -- In Room Dining & The Lobby Operations Manager, and especially Food and Beverage Tournant Manager, who did their utmost to improve the situation; they also apologized, assuring me that they would talk and work with that server, and politely and most friendly invited me to visit The Lobby again in the future. Thank you, I probably will -- it's a very nice place, the menu looks very enticing to try something else. Happy Holidays & Happy New Year!

The continenal isn’t good. But egg benedict is sooo nice!!
