First and last time visiting this place! The prices on the menu doesn't reflect the price we were charged. We had a wing sampler (menu price $12.99) was charged $15.99 the chicken and waffles (menu price $13.99) charged $16.99. I understand the 20% gratuity but the food was simply not good. The wings were definitely refried several times and the flavor on the wings is not it!! I couldn't finish my wing sampler ?
I was skeptical at first due to the signs all over about the 20% gratuity charge. The server was very lackadaisical and we barely saw her until it was time to collect that money. Food was outstanding tho. Red snapper banged and was a good portion fasho. There is no alcoholic beverages but yal will be okay without it, drink water.
The inside was trendy and the music went with the vibe. This isn't the bougie part of Chicago but it's worth the trip with friends. The baked chicken was rubbed right. The red velvet waffles are amazing. The sides are are yummy. The service was professional and fun. Great experience. Go early.
Lacked flavor but loved the fried broccoli and lemonade. The service was great as well .. I’m still glad I tried it … will I spend another $110 NO

I visited for my first time on a Tuesday around 4pm and pretty much had the restaurant to myself. The server Nae was WONDERFUL ⭐️ she was very sweet and pleasant and attentive. I ordered Chicken Rolls ...meh ? & The ""MYSTERY" drink and the Fried Tilapia dinner ( which was fried and seasoned wonderfully) w/ Candied Yams (that were delicious and flavored well and delightfully not just swimming in sugar ) the Greens (tasted like homeade and were gently spicy but not too hot and also had big pieces of smoked turkey, and the pot liquor was the bomb ,helped that dry cornbread muffin out tremendously ?) and additionally I had the Mac n 'cheese ( it was creamy, cheesy, stringy and hot and had flavor). I was pleasantly pleased with the food it was hot and fresh and tasty and even the mystery drink was refreshingly good too honestly everything was ?........with exception of the "Chicken rolls" they were mostly filled with rice and a few tiny chunks of chicken and a bit of corn.... again mostly rice not much flavor and the corn bread muffin was old and hard but I could deal because I was eating well otherwise and jamming to the music that they were playing......late 90's R&B my ish? BEWARE !!⚠️ if your not a tipper it is automatically included in the total due ( 20% gratuity....I was by myself) but really I'm not tripping on that at all.
Don't waste your time going here. You could make your own soul food at home! The prices on the menu was not the same price that was on the bill. Add about +3-5$ to the items on the menu price. The greens and Mac was so nasty. The Lemon pepper wings was the worst. If I could rate this place 0 stars I would! I don't see why people hype this place up so much!
My family and I stopped by while on vacation and the food was beyond DELICIOUS, and they also played great music. I highly recommend this place. We’ll be back!
I’m here in Chicago celebrating my birthday, & this place was recommended by my daughters’s friend. This place is amazing. The food , & the vibe. Especially the music.
