Loved the entire experience. I got two bags of ground coffee (I recommend the maple walnut flavor) and tried a good coffee and a delightful peach cinnamon latte with my fiancee. The staff were wonderful and extremely patient while we examined the overwhelming list of options. I wish I lived closer so I could go here more often! I only tried the coffee but it seems like a great place for tea and spices as well, and they have mugs and assorted equipment for making tea and coffee also. Will go back next time I'm in town!
I adore this place. COVID caused some changes to the place (I miss being able to walk up to each coffee bean barrel and look/smell the beans), but it's still my go-to coffee bean shop even when I lived 30+ miles away. Amazing quality beans, delicious drinks and awesome coffee/tea making products. And an entire wall of tea-related spices/herbs including catnip. This place is the best!
It's a bit ridiculous that even now you still have to wear a mask, queue outside, upon entering only stand in designated spaces, and only have permission to move to a different designated space move when instructed by an employee. I'll pass for now. When they open back up and you can enjoy browsing around the way you used to, I'll consider going back. In the meantime, they have simply taken away the customer experience they used to give, and replaced it with higher prices.
We made the switch to loose leaf tea about two years ago and are so thankful that Coffee and Tea Exchange is in the neighborhood. Great selection and friendly service. Consider calling your order ahead to make it a very quick errand.And if you're still using tea bags, consider making the switch to loose leaf. Saves you money and and the tea is (usually) better quality.
This place is awesome! Super friendly staff and an endless variety of beans. I bought 6 quarter pound bags to sample, all of which were recommendations by an extremely nice and helpful employee. Also, they have tons of coffee/ tea brewing equipment, basically anything you’d ever need.10/10 will keep coming back
I've past by this shop many times but didn't know how amazing the food and drinks are. It is very nice spot to study, with a cottage theme, food is of Asian restaurant quality. Jimmy is v hospitable. I love their raddish cake with egg and coconut mixed fruit sundae ( it is a mixed fruit tapioca drink.
A great place to get roasted beans and herbal tea. Staff is really helpful at introducing the different products based on my needs. The herbal tea never disappoints me!The store also offers online orders, though I had never tried that.

C&TE is hands down my favorite coffee shop in all of Chicago. They make a delicious Iced Snickers that takes me back 20 years to when I first started ordering it. They've also googled different drip coffees I've tried and re-created the blend from their beans. Awesome staff, great products, delicious treat.
