Shared a family platter with some of my oldest friends; we didn't leave a single morsel left on the plate. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere warm and inviting, and the food was phenomenal. To top it off, the family platter was very reasonably priced. It fed four large men to near-bursting (it was very good), but could have easily fed six.
it was great to try a different cultural culinary experience. friendly staff, great food. ?
We really enjoyed our meal at Tesfa. The service was great, the food was well-priced, and the atmosphere was nice. Not to mention that the food was delicious!! I brought along a friend who had never had Ethiopian food before, and she loved it. We got the vegetarian combination platter. Each dish was tasty and different--really worthwhile if you want to try as much as possible, and it was plenty of food for two people. And the injera was to die for. Thank you Tesfa!
Went Thursday 6 pm, fragrant as soon as my husband and I walked in the door. Homemade tea delicious. Had the 2 meat, 5 veg platter, to die for. We had lamb and fish. Sauces excellent, lentils awesome! Wish they had food this good in south suburbs off Halsted!
Without question some of the best food in Chicago?
Delicious , flavorful vegan cuisine! Love the spices!!!! Please check it out!!!
Shared the family plate with three other people and the amount was perfect. Everything was so delicious and flavors were amazing. If you haven’t tried Ethiopian food this is a good chill place to start. The staff are incredibly nice and helpful. The injera is plentiful and you can always ask for more! Trust me everything is great - meat, chicken, vegetarian! Come with an open mind and definitely eat with your hands!Would recommend making a reservation for dinner on weekend especially for larger groups.
It's a busy little restaurant, so a reservation is recommended. I managed to get a table with a small wait. Food was served quickly. Tiramisu was still frozen, but it was delicious. They have a sink in the hallway outside the bathroom so you can wash your hands before and after eating. Tea was an unexpected nice touch.
We ordered the combo plate for 2-4. It was $55. There were 3 of us. I said pricey because it did not reflect the serving size. The rolled ejira bread on top fills you up quick. There could have been more of the meat and vegetables dishes. Otherwise, the food was good. The 4 pieces of samuzas for $10 were ok. I've had better. Chai tea was very good.
Outstanding service as well! Sam was wonderful!
