Ordered some breakfast and coffee to go on a Friday morning and was very happy. I had to request a rush and the restaurant did indeed help me with a fast order. The food, coffee and service were all good. They have a nice location with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Would surely recommend it if you are in Chicago and in the area.
We chose the Tempo Cafe because of the excellent reviews, they were not wrong. Breakfast was excellent, as was the service. Portion size was very good, and the prices reasonable for Chicago.
Tempo Cafe is the best - the food, the service, the location - it is hands-down our favorite breakfast spot in Chicago! Everything we have ever ordered is delicious! We ate there multiple times last year and had to come back while in Chicago this year! You can sit outside or inside. The wait times have never been long. The portions are huge! All items are so fresh! Don't miss out on eating here!
We ate breakfast here for three of our four days in Chicago. Service was always friendly with regular drink refills and good tips on what to order. Food portions are filling, a great way to start the day. Omelettes , eggs Benedict and “poor man’s breakfast skillets” were all tasty and large. I particularly enjoyed the skillet. A great breakfast place to start your day !
Okay good things first. French toast was very good. My fiance loved his sausage patties. The worst worst thing was the sense of eat and get out. We were enjoying our coffee and talking we have very busy weeks, and the consent eyes on us was a bit much. Like the hostess and the waitress. I felt they just wanted us to leave. We paid $60 dollars for our breakfast we just wanted to enjoy it. Now I understand the want to get us out from a business point of view. I just wish it wasn't so unsettling. Again very good coffee and service. I would definitely like to try there lunch sometime
What an amazing restaurant! We got in at about 8 am and were seated right away (party of 2). Someone came around and gave us coffee and water immediately and a server came to take our orders. I ordered the omelette (cheddar and onion) and my partner ordered eggs Benedict. The eggs Benedict came with hashbrowns and a slice of cantaloupe, which I got because my partner doesn't like it, and my omelette came with white toast and hashbrowns under it. The omelette was delicious but MASSIVE! I could only eat a bit of it. But I suggest the marmalade for the toast. They make it in house and it is lovely- was my first time eating marmalade. Highly recommend!
The omelette I got was good. Nothing to write home about, but their hash browns are not my style. Their version is sliced boiled potatoes and letting a stack of them crisp one side then the other so it's not crispy throughout. Service was good though, the waiter noticed my order wasn't correct before bringing it out and had it fixed.
It’s all real and good stuffsLove it ?nice services
The food was amazing! Perfect portion sizes and great prices. The service was wonderful - our server was on top of things! I ordered the banana nut waffle and when it came out, there was no topping. I figured the banana nut was cooked into the waffle - I was wrong. As soon as our server noticed, she offered to put the topping on the waffle for me, but I declined because it tasted fabulous even without the topping. Great first time experience here, and will definitely be back!
Food was good, and service was prompt. French toast and egg scramble were very good portions. Lots of healthy options. Outside seating available and the place was very clean. Our server was very good as well.
