Came here for Taco Tuesday and it was a fantastic deal. Tacos weren't super authentic but they exceeded our expectation. The shrimp and fish tacos were especially tasty. Salsa bar and free chips with our order were a pleasant surprise.
Guacamole can’t be freshly made - or made in house at all! Nachos were amazing but can’t get over how bummed I was with the guac - it’s so inedible that it wasted some of my nachos (never mind the full 9$ order of it). $40 for just me… hard pass next time…
First time here. A bit expense but what do you expect its in the city. Had the steak, chicken and pork tacos with everything on them. They hit the spot but not much flavor to them.
This place is awesome! Lots of vegetarian options, affordable and really good. They have a salsa bar too.
As a last minute decision, we did carry out - got chicken nachos and a couple tamales. They do give large portions but the food is tasteless - no spice at all. I would not go back.
We read about this place online, and wanted to give their tacos a try during our Chicago weekend. We weren't terribly hungry, so we just ordered 2 each from their specials menu. Two different shrimp ones, a pork belly one, and a Korean beef one. They were wonderful authentic tacos, and very flavorful. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town.
Came here with the wife and kids we walked from 11th Street Hilton garden Inn. We decided on Mexican food and since it was chose Taco Maya. We were highly disappointed! The tacos were mini tacos basically. There was minimal meat on the tacos and was drowned with lettuce. I clearly told the guy I wanted lettuce and cheese only on my tacos and it came with everything on them. The rice was called on one of the dinners we purchased. Might just have to go to the ghetto to get some good tacos! Lol. Not kidding! It is what it is what do you expect for a taco place downtown! But we definitely won't be back here. Not trying to give the spot a bad name I'm just very honest and as a business owner people should know where to get good food and where to get bad food. Definitely was the worst $57 we spent on food ever! We should have just went to McDonald's or Burger King.
Seems to be family owned. Great food, very busy on a Friday night. The chips are seasoned and there is a salsa bar. The wait was moderate so plan ahead, and since it’s so popular, there might not be enough seating. Definitely worth a try if you’re in the area.
I ate here once when it opened and then hadn't been back for a couple years, however I'm pretty glad I did.The Paneer Taco is really, really good and you can't find it at too many other places. the nachos and chimichangas are also good. The salsa bar is very clutch, and surprisingly the Avocado salsa is the best one!!The dessert we got was the fried ice cream and while it is HUGE, we couldn't stop eating it. Round that out with some great service and you have to stop by!
Taco mayas food speaks for itself but what makes me come back is the friendly knowledgeable service. Shout out to Brenda for her being an amazing server and bartender as well!
