Bagels were really good! Chewy and flavorful. The lox cream cheese is very good too. Just make sure to ask for your bagel toasted because they won’t do it otherwise. They have a cute store attached with cheese, meats, spices, sauces, drinks etc. There is outdoor seating too.

The uncle Rubin is so delicious, though pricey. I had it with pastrami. Definitely worth trying.

Loved it. On my breakfast bagel Sammie quest — this one is at the top for me! The sesame bagel, perfect - bacon + egg + cheese, great amount - fresh/quality ingredients and that jalapeño cream cheese is BOMB!

This place slings some of the best bagels I have experienced this side of the Hudson. I am constantly tickled by their playful approach to formulating delicious treats, and their dedication to a consistent product is of the highest caliber. Give them your money...they won't disappoint.

Have you ever had sausage that you weren't sure if it was sausage or vegetarian sausage? Have you ever paid 50 cents for hot sauce that you didn't get? No!? Go here.Ok... so... maybe I'm way saltier than that sausage... Maybe I'm coming in way hotter than that hot sauce ever would have been... I'm just feeling spicy.Tl;dr The bagel was good, the sandwich was weak. The prices were high.

Some of the best quality bagels I’ve had in Chicago. Not uncommon to see a caravan of cars parked out front at 8am waiting on their pickup orders. Very well-deserved, glad to have them in the neighborhood.

Lox, tomatoes, capers, pickled cucumbers and red onions. It all worked together well! But the bagels were hard, and the ingredients continuously fell out of the sandwich. Much better as an open-face sandwich

We ordered takeout from Steingold's for the first time today. We got a Joe (corned beef) w/chicken noodle soup and a Paul (BLT) w/matzo ball soup. The soups were terrific and the corned beef was perfect, but they didn't fully cook the bacon for my BLT. I'm not sure if that's their standard cooking style for bacon there, so I suggest letting them know you want your bacon crispy when you place your order unless you like your bacon partially cooked.

$9.50 for a loaf of challah.let that sink in, folks.as someone who bakes regularly, I totally understand the cost of ingredients and labor that go into baked goods but $9.50 is absolute Insanity considering that challah contains no butter and that it's highly unlikely their challah is even made in house.there are dozens of other places to buy challah in the city, none of which charge almost $10.overall, the food here just doesn't justify the skyhigh prices.

Whenever I’m in town from Denver, I love to stop by Steingold’s to pick up breakfast for my stay.
