Sputnik Coffee is a Chicago institution. We’ve been enjoying their roasted coffee for the better part of 2021 through 2022. We’ve ordered coffee from them many times and have always been over delighted at its freshness and flavor. We stopped in today for the very first time and met the owners and they were nothing short of spectacular. The service was top notch. Our son had an espresso and I had a latte with whole milk and house made vanilla. It was in fact the best latte I’ve ever had. It will definitely not be our last visit to the store. Thank you so much for your high-quality product and for your incredible service and friendly camaraderie.
I have yet to make it down to the roaster/shop, but the Cermak near me stocks the medium roast (which I guess is their only one) and I have to say it's such insanely good coffee. I'm a huge fan of a good medium roast so if they had to provide only one for now I'd say they made the right choice.Also trying to make coffee affordable and opening up a shop in an area without a lot of coffee options is pretty sick.
Love this place. Honestly this coffee is one of the main reasons we no longer go to starbucks. This place is amazing and the staff is always so kind. We love it!!
Came across Sputnik coffee in my local Valli supermarket, and from the packaging thought to myself, wow this looks like a third wave Roaster selling out of a grocery store: could it possibly be good?Tried it and was, and am, blown away. I spend more time and money than I would like to admit seeking out good roasters and good coffee and good coffee shops.And, I believe I am making the best coffees I have ever made, and tasting the best cappuccinos I have ever made, thanks to their coffee. While so many high-end roasters are chasing ever-brighter, lighter roasts, Sputnik have really dialed it in.Have not made it down to the roastery, but hope to one day. Well done!
The guy running the store was very friendly. He was able to tell us a little bit about where the coffee came from. I had a latte and it was one of the better lattes I've ever had. I bought a bag of beans so that I could brew at home. The bag was resealable for small batch grinding which I really appreciate. The selection is limited to the one blend... but it's a good blend.

Started auto-delivery in 2020 and haven't stopped. Great coffee. Proud t-shirt & mug owner, too. When away from home, grinding the beans and taking that first sip reminds me of home. I love Sputnik.
Simple and yet very good coffee shop that gets the job done. A limited coffee menu but is simple and straight to the point! Coffee at $1 is really cheap especially how prices are these days. Apparel is also available for purchase. This was a well worth trip.
We luv luv luv Sputnik!!! I go to the shop to pick up the 5lb bag of beans for my husband. The house smells so delicious when it's brewing. I stopped drinking coffee a few years ago it makes me want to start drinking again. Their Cold Brew is the only coffee I'll make an exception for. It's so richand flavorful with a unique note of sweetness at the end. Mmmmmmm
We discovered Sputnik coffee at HASH restaurant several months ago. The coffee tasted so good that my husband asked the staff for the name of it. He wanted to be able to try and have it at home. They told us about Sputnik, about the local folks who own and are the roasters; and we knew we had to check them out. It’s become somewhat of an obsession. :) We are thrilled they have a local shop so we buy our coffee from them regularly. We also love their loose leaf tea, especially the turmeric ginger and chamomile lemon. You can buy it whole bean or have it ground. They have espresso beans, as well. We really try to support local, small business and Sputnik makes it so easy! We believe it’s the best coffee in Chicago, hands down! And lastly, a shout out for the tasty bakery treats that we enjoy, too.
