Now don’t get me wrong…I’m not typically a fan of cupcakes due to the overbearingly sweet frosting and mediocre cake…but Sprinkles is a different story. Complete with an automated “Cupcake ATM” outside the store, this iconic cupcake store boasts a variety of classic and seasonal cupcakes along with cupcakes for those with various dietary restrictions. Employees are always kind and remain calm despite constant movement into the store. The cupcakes are made with high quality ingredients and boast the perfect balance of frosting and cake. The simple and colorful aesthetic of the store only improves the experience and leaves you wondering when you’ll be back next.
Average cupcakes. Very high prices. The cornflake oatmeal cookies are good. You have to do your own order on a little tablet - a similar principle to the self order machines in McDonald's. They cheekily ask for a tip when they are charging $4 for a cookie and $5 for a cupcake, when you had to do your own order. They literally put it in a bag for you. Why is that tip worthy? There are better options.
wow...what a change, these used to my favorite. So much smaller than they used to, amount of icing way less and inconsistent flavor. Waited over an hour for the cupcake ATM to be loaded only to be disappointed by expensive subpar cupcakes. Never again, Chicago used to have an awesome product its to bad.
Loved this bakery, we bought 4 different flavors, the vanilla, triple cinnamon, red velvet and salted caramel. All of them were great, the cake texture was on point and the icing (while dense) was flavorful. Definitely worth trying while visiting <3
I going to get right to the point… Sprinkles, located in Downtown Chicago, has THEE best vegan red velvet cupcakes in the city of Chicago. I let one of my friends try one whom isn’t vegan and they could not believe it was vegan. In fact, he said it tasted better then a regular red velvet cake.My only complaint would be the lack of vegan options. I love the red velvet cupcake but there should be more options.
Usually good cupcakes. On our last visit we got a strawberry, a banana, and a chocolate, as well as one for the dog.HOWEVER, issues regarding the vending machines are questionably-managed. We once literally got vended an empty box, and never got a resolution to the issue, or even an acknowledgement of the problem. In short, good in-store experience, but poor method of addressing customer complaints.
First time here. Cupcake was crumbly and dry. The frosting separated completely away from the cupcake. And I found a hair of some sort as I was eating it. ? I had the dark chocolate one. I also got a sugar free one for my mom and a vanilla one. And they were also dry and crumbly. I could’ve saved 15 dollars and they would’ve been moist. The frosting was probably the only good thing on the cupcakes.
I wanted to like this place sooo bad, considering it's proximity to me; but unfortunately, I was highly disappointed. I went based upon a coworker recommendation. I ordered 3 cupcakes (B/W, Cinn., S.C.), all totaling ~ $13. Sadly, all 3 cupcakes were dry, like extremely dry...like weeks old type cupcakes! So much for a cheat day! On a lighter note: street parking (garages are near by), quick service, open 24 hrs (cupcake ATM *btw- very neat idea), and there is a variety of options. Unfortunately I would not recommend.
I used to love Sprinkles and went a little too regularly, but sadly the cupcakes have been total misses the last few times so I've had to give up. It seems like they're leaving cupcakes overnight and reselling them the next day. I don't know how else the cupcakes could be so dry. The crumb is stale even though the frosting keeps, but perhaps it depends on the flavor you get. Good luck!
Have been going for years. They taste so good and the frosting is my favorite. But has anyone noticed they’ve gotten smaller? Or is it in my head?
