I keep really wanting to like this place, but leave having spent over $20 on a few items each time and end up disappointed with half of my purchases. The sandwiches are great, the bagels are great, but busy or not busy, it’s gonna take at least 5-10 minutes to get your food, even if it’s just a toasted bagel with cream cheese. And all the cashiers are super kind and I can tell it’s a community staple, but they’re so familiar with each person ordering that they’ll spend like 3 minutes talking to someone after they ordered even with a line to the door, and again I love they’re friendly, but sometimes you just want a bagel and drink without waiting 20 minutes. Also, I keep trying their lattes, but they’re mostly milk with no strong flavor. If you’re not in a rush and only want food I’d suggest it.

Stopped here for a morning brew and breakfast. Brought my laptop to work as well. They had a few open seats which was nice and also managed to find an outlet. I had a Chorizo Kolache and it was very good! I also had a medium drip coffee which was slightly sour. I wanted to get a refill as it is only an additional dollar but barely finished the first cup. Will try a different drink next time I come!

Really neat coffee/cafe place that offers some interesting and delicious sandwiches. Staff is super kind and thoughtful. A tad pricey but worth it

Friendly and quick local spot with delicious bagels and other baked goodies.

Delicious bagels/breakfast sandwiches! They also carry do-rite donuts. Chai tea is not too bad either!

Cubano sandwich is my frequent go-to. Online ordering and take-away is a breeze. Limited seating. It’s not cheap, but they use great quality local products and pay their employees a living wage.

The food is very, very good so it's worth it for that. The service leaves a LOT to be desired or the staff just have a special vendetta against me.I used to go and place my order directly with the staff there. Until they yelled at me and told me to order online. So I started ordering online, now they ignore me when I go to pick-up my order.Recently, someone cut me in the pick-up line, they noticed and served her anyway (not a big deal). When it was my turn, they ignored me again. I decided to go into the order line where they then yelled at me for not being in the pick-up line. If I'm not waiting 5-10m with my food sitting in front of me while the staff intentionally ignores me, I'm being yelled at. What's the point of online ordering?I'm really not sure what it is about me, personally - I really don't want to make this about my identity, but literally no one else is treated the way I am. I'm really not sure if I should continue visiting this place.Edit: not sure what Covid protocols have to do with toxic staff yelling at and belittling one customer in front of others, but the manager’s tone deaf response cemented my decision to not return.

Bagel sandwich was good. Very messy with scrambled eggs on it. Would be better with a patty. Barely any Bagels to choose from due to them being busy. Was a good spot tho

Seriously to die for food. Coming from South Carolina myself, I've had a lot of grits bowls in the city and let me tell you: best grits in Chicago- hands down. If grits aren't your thing, they will be after you try theirs!

This place is dangerously good. They're the consistent answer to an emergency breakfast sandwich in the neighborhood. The bagels are highly customizable or straight off the menu, either way delicious.
