Classic old school Italian restaurant. Wonderful wines by the glass. Had little clam pasta and truffle pasta and both were fantastic. Would love to come back many times!
Very expensive and for small portions
We go to Sofi for special occasions and every day dining. Everything home made and staff treats you as family!
I've lived in the neighborhood for several decades, and Sofi has gone from a newcomer to become a terrific cornerstone restaurant for the area. It just keeps getting better. Service is first-rate, the staff knows their food and wine and is experienced and capable. The specials are always very good. Every pasta on the menu is exceptional, and most entrees are very good. Had a simple truffle angel hair pasta as the special this time; my 5 guests were all happy with their pasta dishes, including a mixed seafood pasta, the ravioli, and a basic red sauce. Wines are excellent and fairly priced. Cozy atmosphere inside, with appropriate distancing from other tables and appropriate noise level.
Food was great! We had a amazing server.
We had the best time! Wonderful food, my husband had the lamb chops and I had the risotto m. We also had bruschetta and tiramisu. Service was wonderful.
In warmer months I prefer eating outside. Their outdoor seating is nicely arranged and well served. The menu is thoughtful. Wonderful food, and a great setting for meeting over a meal. It's delicious, thoughtful, not showy. I return regularly.
Ambiance was great. Service was ok. Food was not that great and made me sick afterwards. Doesent seem worth the 3 $$$.
Wonderful food and attentive service. Two of us had the fettuccine bolognese, a generous portion but we cleaned our plates! The seafood stew was fragrant and delicious. This is my first time visiting this restaurant, and this was a keeper. Will definitely return.
My favorite neighborhood restaurant and one of my favorites in Chicago. The food and service are both excellent. A great place to take visitors from out of town, especially if you can sit outdoors.
