OMG!!! This place is absolutely amazing. Definitely a gem on the south side of Chicago. We were visiting from out of town and were so amazed at the customer service, patience and attentiveness of the young adults that were At the counter. The decor and place was so beautiful and my oh my was the ice cream and cobbler absolutely to die for! So impressed by this place and sad that I do not have one back home now !! If I could give 10 stars I would! Keep up the amazing work you all and I wish you nothing but success in abundance!!!!! ????
So, we’ve been here a bunch of times and tested almost everything including curbside. We’ve come back as flavors were removed and during those crazy covid hours. I forgot my CC here once and they kept it safe. Even recommended it at my wedding because the costumer engagement is good and black owned. BUT things have changed especially the portions. They used to fill it up and I was charged for 3 regular priced singles instead of the 2 doubles. I only received 1 “double”, the other looked like a child’s single. As usual we waited about 30 mins for this. It sucked cause they were closed by the time we noticed this. It tastes good, but I’m starting to feel stiffed. They should also upgrade to live digital menus so customers know what flavors are in stock and they are cashless so a in store kiosk would be good feature.
Soooo tasty! The place was packed and there was a short wait, yet none of the usual irritation from customers or staff. I realized why after I received my ice cream - everyone was happy to be there and anticipating their dessert! It is that good - there were smiles all around.I had the brownie turtle sundae and my husband had peach cobbler w/2 scoops, believe the hype... It was amazing! ?Shout out to the staff - very polite and hard working.
I do Ride-share and took a family there. They were raving about the place that it caught my interest and decided to go in. The Atmosphere was Bright, Clean, & Organized. The Service was Friendly, Polite, Genuine. The only thing they lack is more employees. Now i was torn between Ice Cream or Cobbler.. I opted for the Peach Cobbler and it was Amazing. The kind gentleman provided me a taste of the Vanilla Ice Cream and if it wasn’t because i had to get back to work I would’ve ordered more. This place is Absolutely Delicious.
I love this place! Their ice cream is so good and always tastes fresh, no freezer burned cream over here (and that's important to me because I tend to bite my ice cream ?). My fave is the banana pudding flavor and the waffle cone I got was fresh and crunchy the way the genius that created that delicacy intended. If you have a moment definitely check them out for some of the best sweet treats you can get on the Southside.
Wonderful service. The staff will greet you the moment you walk in. Wali is super friendly recommending all the popular flavors. I ended up with cinnamon vanilla and bourbon butter pecan. Trust me you will find nothing on this planet that compares to their bourbon butter pecan.The other flavors I like are rum & raisin and chocolate. I highly recommend this place and will visit again.
Very good ice cream and for the banana pudding lovers a banana pudding flavored milkshake is life
My daughter and I LOVE Shawn Michelle's!! Every flavor of ice cream we've tried has been super tasty. I love the Banana Pudding & Lunchroom Butter Cookies! My daughter loves the Blue Moon!! ? ANNND... the Peach Cobbler is AMAZING!!
I Love this ice cream parlor, their very friendly, professional and fast in service. I love the Graham cracker flavor, rum butter pecan, vanilla, and just tried the peach cobbler it was delicious!!! Didn't think a store bought cobbler could be good.plus I love that I'm supporting a black owned business and keeping the community thriving. I drive all the way from the south suburbs to get it.
I am so happy that I visited! Shout out to the Shawn Michelle crew; they are absolutely amazing, knowledgeable, and made my first visit a joy! I ordered a pint - combination of the vegan cookies & cream and chocolate harmony flavors. It is fantastic! I'll definitely return!
