Came here for their popular Crispy Pata after seeing Andrew Zimmern’s review. It was about to be sold out but Mark (our server) made the impossible and really made my husband’s birthday. Thank you, Mark, for your hospitality. The food is phenomenal, price is good, the space is so hip and cozy. Worth the trip! Will definitely be back!!!
I was there 6.9.2022 and was impressed how big the restaurant had expanded. The ambiance was nice. It was disorganized though and has 2 entrances. The staff was cordial and respectful but most of them does not speak English nor Filipino. We decided not to eat there and just order to go. WITH REGARDS TO THE FOOD! It was bland (based from all my three takeouts) and the soup was like water with vegetables in it. I'm not a picky eater but I know when food is great because I eat out very often. My friend called me and echoed the same thing. She said, " the food was bad." I was so SURPRISED and truly disappointed. I last visited Ruby's over 3 years ago, and had numerously ordered food from there AND it was a pleasant experience. Not now. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant to anyone I know at this time. KABAYAN, good luck and God Bless.
Firstly, the dine-in is not necessarily your typical fast food, its like a very nice café. The portions are large and all the food was very tasty as I expected. We were there early so service was smooth and fairly quick. Jonas was extremely friendly and upsold desserts and other treats (see roasted peanuts) to-go, since the food was too much to eat in one sitting, imo. I look forward to going back and have more of their filipino food soon. Very proud of the direction this establishment has gone to turn a mostly take-away business to sit-down dining. Big kudos to Nick the owner!
Service is very slow and unorganized ! Arrived at 1030 , didn't get our food until 1127 . Ordered the lechonsilog, tocilog . Pancit canton was salty but the lumpia and tocino were really good . Very generous portions, too. Takeout was not a breeze. Designate a cashier, put 2 people to scoop food to make the process quicker . It was NOT fast food, either way .
Before the pandemic my family used to dine at that small space Ruby’s. The food was hot and grea! Service was fast!Today, Mother’s Day we came at your new place at Pulaski. We were frustrated because we were served cold and awful food! Seems you don’t have a good chef. The food is not worth the price and service is bad. We waited for long to be served with our ordered food.Is Ruby’s food business under a new management? Your food menus quality are not the same as it was.
Friendly staff and food is good.
The good:Starting off with the good. Great ambiance, great new location! Great vibe!Food review: 4/5 everything we ordered was cooked right, seasoned great, great texture and good flavor. Only thing that disappointed me was my order of the palabok, had no protein, usually some sort of meat or seafood but mine only had chicharron.the BAD.Oh Lordy… I had high hopes for this place…but it’s so hard to give it a good review. Ordered BBQ, sisig, lechosilog, longsilog, kare kare, palabok. We didn’t receive our first order until 1 hour into the dining experience. And foods didn’t come in at the same time … which was understandable; the last food we ordered came almost 2 hours later (palabok) … bbq on a stick took over an hour. The service looked very confused.I think it was the fact the dine-in experience is what caused my review to be so low. I think if we ordered for take out I would’ve rated high. For our party, there was nothing fast about, Ruby’s fast food. The food did taste good though. However for how long we waited…
Great parking, safe and secure across the street from a police station, separate dine-in and take out rooms, great and modernized atmosphere. Food? If you haven't been to their former location, you've been missing out!
1st time coming to Ruby's and we order almost everything on the menu! Enjoyed almost every dish from their delicious and popular Palabok to their delicious Binagoongan everything on their menu is worth eating. If you haven't tried this location you're missing out on some good filipino food.
The best filipino home cook dishes I have ever tried in Chicago ? I am always here almost every weekend to eat Filipino dishes, and Ruby’s never disappoints me for all of my cravings and it’s inexpensive!!! They have their different set of menu everyday that you can see in their fb page. You can pay cash or through credit card as well.My favorites are Kare-kare, Lechon Kawali, Bopis, Dinuguan, and Goto with Tokwa’t baboy. I also love their desserts like Buko Pandan with Tapioca pearls, and the Mango parfait. I religiously love their SILOG!!!If you haven’t tried this, you are missing out!!!
