ROOH was amazing! Everything we ordered was delicious and the service was great. They have great options for vegan and gluten-free. I will definitely be back to try the happy hour!
We had the best date night experience at ROOH! The atmosphere was so intimate and comfortable. They had incredibly intricate cocktails & delicious, heartwarming food. The service was incredible. I can't wait to go back!
This is a 3.5 star review. We had a good dinner and the star was the butter chicken, then the kulcha with shishito peppers. Everything else we had was ok. The space and ambiance is ok. Downstairs is nicer. We were sat upstairs which had little to no personality and a super loudly crying child who cried thru the whole meal. We got a headache as a side - for free! The cocktails are delicious, including the non- alcoholic ones. Service was lovely, informed, and prompt. The butter chicken is one of the best I have ever had - incredibly tasty. We split it since it is a very generous portion. Other items like lamb shank are not that large so beware or ask so you know how much food you would be getting. The menu is succinct, which is nice but main dishes are just a handful - they could have couple more items - we would have tried more.
ROOH was a fantastic experience and the best Indian food I believe in Chicago. Service was standard, quick, and accommodating. The food was delicious, and the best dish I believe was the Bengali Lamb Shank. Nice cocktails and in a busy neighborhood. Highly recommend this spot, and do the chef’s tasting menu which is 4 courses, $65 per person.
My family and I went to Rooh for dinner last night and it was absolutely exceptional. I savored literally every bite. Our entire table ordered the 4 Course Chef’s Tasting Menu, so I was able to try a wide array of Rooh’s offerings. My favorite dishes that I ate were the Grilled Prawn Small Plate and the Sea Bass (with basmati rice or saffron rice). The sauce on the grilled prawns was particularly outstanding for its incredible flavor, a touch spicy with fantastic Indian spices. Excellent all around: service, food, atmosphere, and meal pacing– I highly recommend!
Such a cool place!! The food here is super innovative and has amazing flavor combinations. Coming from Chicago it was super affordable and definitely worth visiting (even on a short trip to Columbus)! The ambience is lovely and I love the regal theme with the gold/deep blue decor. My cocktail was delicious (I got the Mango Mule) and I may have even liked what my friend got (Saunf Sour) even better! We ordered the sampler, the sweet potato chaat, the cauliflower koliwada, lamb keema hyderabadi, the Amritsari shrimp and some naan! Weren’t hungry enough for any of the large plates this time but definitely gotta try them when we come back!Don’t skip: the cauliflower, the shrimp!

Wow. What a take on indian cuisine. The food was spectacular. The bean side pictured here reminded me of home cooked food. The cocktails were great too. I do wish they had a few more spirit options. But definitely a must try restaurant.
Unfortunately, there are very few Indian restaurants in Chicago. However, this one, Rooh, is a good one. It’s located in the trendy West Loop neighborhood and delivers just like the popular and high end restaurants in the area. First, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. My waiter was knowledgeable about the food that I ordered and was able to give me information that made my meal more enjoyable. Second, the food is awesome. I ordered the avocado & chickpea bhel, Bengali lamb shank and whole sea bass plate. The avocado & chickpea bhel was flavored and textured well. It was a great start to my meal. The Bengali lamb shank was delicious and tender. The meat was basically falling off the bone. The sauce that come with was yummy and not too spicy. I also enjoyed the whole sea bass plate. Like the lamb shank, it was very tender. Third the atmosphere is cool. I enjoyed the interior with it gray decor and cool mural. If you like Indian food or just want to try a new place, this is a must visit.
Very tasty Indian food in a nice environment with great service! Really liked all the items we tried:- Chili cheese kulcha. One of the most popular items. The kulcha was so fluffy and the chili cheese seasoning was so perfect.- Sweet potato chaat. An interesting item that definitely was worthy of a try.- Butter chicken. Another must-have item. Relished the rich, complex, subtle flavor of the curry. Go for it.Hope will come back some time and try more ;)
