One of the staples of the Chicago Jewish community. Actually one of the staples of the international Jewish community! Whenever we want quality hot dogs, burgers, deli, and sausages, Romanian is the ONLY place to go. Absolutely the top notch kosher meat out there.

Idk. I had a few salamis delivered to NJ and dried them for three weeks like I usually do. I was a bit annoyed because the iloveromanian order company shipped it in a cardboard box with wadded up newspaper. Being July i met the FedEx driver at the door but the salamis were around body temperature after a few days of shipping. The wrapping says keep refrigerated. Oh well. After three weeks hanging at 65 degrees at 58 humidity I cut into it with some friends on shabbos with cold beer.The verdict: The salami honestly is underwhelming and flavorless. The fat content is good but there isn't much flavor at all past some decent beef and fat. I've hung almost every brand of salami available and this salami is not as good as an AH or Shor Habor. I sliced it thin and added lemon juice and black pepper because it needed something to cut the plain fat and beef flavor and there isn't any spice that I can taste to make it anything more than ground beef, fat and salt.Oh well, I won't be going out of my way to get this again. I’m very disappointed actually. Three stars, one for the fact that it’s quality beef and two out of respect for the institution.
