A must taste experience in the Lake View East area with an adjoining brew pub. Delicious flavor, hand crafted pizza and cheese bread that was so incredibly done and enjoyed (even as leftovers). Bring an appetite and enjoy!
I love the crust on their pizza. The sauce is tasty, and they don't overload it with cheese. Like all Chicago pizza places, it is overpriced.
Got delivery and both pizzas tasted super burnt, like they were smoked for 2 weeks. The bitterness overwhelmed the taste and I had to throw away both of them, as they completely inedible. I added one star because I could tell that the pizzas were good underneath all that smoke/burn... Too bad.
Wood fired, is it still? This used to be one of our favorite go-to spots for delicious Neapolitan style pizza, made in a legit wood-fired oven with delightfully creative toppings. The crust properly done with some blistered spots on top and a browned, thin, crisp bottom and tender, flavorful dough. Good service, good beer, good cocktails, and a nice environment, all close to home.Something happened! I first chalked it up to getting take out. It won't be as crisp as fresh out of the oven no-worries. Then we could dine outside on the street! Alas still the same disappointing pizza results. Maybe COVID mehem meant they were having to rush their timing or maybe there were new and untrained staff. No worries, I'll come back and give it another chance. After disappointment number dine-in number two, we asked what was going on. We were told there was a change to the oven and perhaps there may be a minor change in the way it cooks. I cannot confirm that was what really happened although it seems likely the results of a too-cold floor of the oven. Pizza on top looks great, crust on bottom, not so much, unless you enjoy a flacid and soggy bottom. I do realize that we are Neapolitan pizza snobs but the loss of a regular favorite feels like a bigger deal than it would be for most.To be fair the other food is still good, pizza is okay, the servers are usually great, and everything else is as-was from my perspective. It is just not a stellar pizza choice for us anymore earning is a meh rating when there are better pies within biking distance. It has been a couple months since we last tried it and if I can talk my partner into giving it another go and we find a return to the former pizza glory I will revise my report and give them the 5 stars believe they earned in the past. #IWantYouBackUpdate, we went back and the pizza was improved so I’m bringing my review up to a 4.
Cool atmosphere. Good beer. Mediocre food. Decent stop all together
Food is 5 stars. Little Green Men pizza is unique and delicious. Tasty fries and friends said burger and chicken sandwich were also good. Water was served warm though, which brought it down a star.Verdict - would go again.
Great Neapolitan pizzas--dough was light and fluffy; sauce and toppings were well paired! Little Green Men (mortadela + pistachio pesto) was a home run. Fungus Among Us (mushroom + lemon) was a banger.
Roebuck and Dry Hop Brewers are the same place essentially FYI. Roebuck is the restaurant, Dry Hop the beer. Pretzel and Pizzas were delicious and I was highly impressed by the beer as well. Would not hesitate to go back. Interior is bright and airy as the whole front of the building opens up. They also have quite a few tables on the street.
Pizza is great, but please re-think your chopped salad. It's not chopped; it's large chunks and not mixed - no ditalini, scallions, or spicy meat to give it a kick. An unpleasant dish.
Awesome margarita pizza and chop salad!! Tasted so fresh and came out fast!
