I was visiting Chicago for the weekend and the Redhead Piano Bar was on my husband's list of things he really wanted to do. It sounded cool, but I was not ready for the amazing experience I had. I thought I'd have one drink and then we'd leave, but I was pleasantly surprised at the atmosphere, amazing drinks, and fantastic pianist - Elisa Carlson!TAKE ALL MY MONEY! This place is a FOR SURE stop WHEN we come back in town, and we WILL be back!Do not second guess going here, and sit at the piano if you can, hands down, best night I've had in a while.
I had an amazing experience attending the redhead piano bar. It was lively and fun the bartenders were super friendly and constantly attentive. I don't drink so they had my club soda and lime in no time. But the one person who stood out the most was Christian the man who greeted me at the door. He put in the effort to tell me about the cigar bar in the back which was awesome and he just seems like a guy you can trust to get you home at the end of the night.Thanks Christian and Michelle the bar tender for taking great care of me.
Very relaxed atmosphere, with a central bar where you can watch great pianist singers livening up the night. I recommend!
Mike at the piano was awesome! Kept it fun! The bartending staff was real personable. Christian the bouncer was a lot of fun! If you're stuffy, this isn't the place for you. Perfect place to hang out!
it is impossible to frown at this place. I selfishly don't want to tell y'all how great it is! Kaleen is the best, she is outstanding at performing and engaging with the audience. if you don't like crowded/loud/overwhelmingly joyful places, this may not be the venue for you. if you like sing alongs/crowd favorites/meeting new friends, this is for you! I wish Stu would come back though.

We had a fantastic time at the Redhead! It was one of the highlights of our trip. Kaleen was great and the atmosphere was lively and exciting. The music was great and they played a variety of genres. We had read about there being a dress code and were a little worried but had no issues getting in whatsoever.
I was a regular who thoroughly enjoyed this bar. However, after leaving my $65 white straw cowboy hat in the back smoking room and having not been able to retrieve it, I am deeply disappointed. The bar was practically empty. I arrived with my neighbor. We sat alone and smoked cigars in the back room. Later on, I gave $20 (which I always do) to the female piano player to play the song Papa Was A Rolling Stone. I have been working a lot so I haven't been able to return. However, I have tried to contact the manager so that my hat could be returned. Everyone there knows me, my hat and the regular patrons who I hangout with... Ben, etc. I even gave Larry, the bathroom attendant, $100 once because he stated that he had a family emergency.I just want my hat back. It's a shame that someone would steal a cowboy hat.I HATE THIEVES AND LIARS!I returned a few days ago to hopefully recover my cowboy hat. I was with Ben who is extremely popular there and is a regular who frequently visits. I was informed by one of the managers that he had seen me enter a truck wearing my hat. A truck? Nobody I know neither owns or drives a truck. Furthermore, Balthazar, a friend, had given both myself and my neighbor a ride home in his car.I can only surmise that my cowboy hat was discovered and kept... possibly by one of these employees.I will NEVER return to Redhead Piano Bar. I tipped extremely well and used to have fun there.Enjoy the stolen cowboy hat... whomever has it. Wear it with jeans and cowboy boots like a true cowboy.Jay
My absolute favorite place to go in Downtown Chicago!From the moment you arrive you are greeted by the very professional Doormen. Jeannie who works Coatcheck is the absolute sweetest and most thoughtful human. No matter how packed it is, I am always greeted with kindness and a smile by Dan the bartender. The Manager Clarissa, is as cool and fun and she is professional.Love the Friday night musicians, Kaleen and Darryl are talented and dynamic. There is not a genere of music that Kaleen Dolan cannot slay, with her ridiculous amount of talent. She brings so much kindness and fun to us all who are lucky enough to be in her audience.Then for the rest of the night Chris Heroldt not only keeps giving us all the feel good songs, he creates a show that is all about the people. Leaving us all with so much joy, brought through his amazing musical skills.
We had a great time. Staff was great.
