The food was excellent especially for a buffet, though very expensive ($40pp . They had very considerable offerings and all kept fresh. Used plates were quickly removed. Plenty of staff were available and willing to help with anything that you might need. The only cons that I will offer is that soda is served room temperature in 16oz bottles and if you use plastic to pay your bill there is a 3% surcharge. Bring cash.
Consistently great Polish buffet. All the expected classics and then some. Great desserts as well. The service is always great as well. They can seat large groups, all it is great for family get-togethers.
My Mom was a waitress in the Red Apple Rest in 1931 when she met my Dad who stopped in for lunch. They soon fell in love and the rest is history. 4 children and decades of love.
A rare polish buffet. All the dishes were pretty fresh. They only cook on small batches so the food doesn't sit out for to long. The ones I liked were the duck, pork hocks, pickled beets with horseradish. The golabki had a zesty red sauce on it.
The food is delicious. All dishes my grandparents made when I was growing up. Will definitely go back.
We made a reservation for Easter Sunday. I even had my polish friend call to speak to them in polish and confirm because the person on the phone wasn't understanding me too well.It ruined the start of our Easter. When I asked the hostess "so what now?" She said, "just wait."Update: they accommodated us pretty quickly but still, beware.Update #2: This was my first time there and The food was wonderful.
What a terrific buffet restaurant! You'd better be hungry when you arrive. You will find a buffet filled with beautifully prepared fish, chicken, roast beef, ham carved off the bone, schnitzel, the best mushroom gravy in the world, potatoes, lots of veggies, salads, fresh salmon, desserts and much more. Each guest is served a cup of homemade soup as soon as you sit down. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant is lovely. Accommodations for large groups are available. I can't wait to go back!
One of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. Reminded me of the huge family dinners as a little boy my giant Polish family would have. Had to go back three times. So many delightful dishes to try. I was celebrating my 60th birthday with my wife and a business associate. I had found the place at random on Google maps. We just relocated to nearby Skokie. I'll be bringing all my friends to the Apple in the years to come. This place is going to make me fat.
Been wanting to go for years after seeing it on various websites and shows. Finally came back to visit and took my Dad. Wonderful! True Polish Grannys in the back bringing out the food. Love our experience. Cash only and interesting that you can also swing by and pay for the pounds which I have never seen before. So Yummy!!!
Food was amazing, and service was excellent! The house-made pickles were fantastic, as was everything else. Price is fair for the quality of service and food. I've seriously never had service as good as we got at any other buffet style restaurant, those girls deserve a raise!
