Pho can be eaten for breakfast, lunch or dinner, but not a lot of restaurants open earlier than 10 or 11 am. Pho nam lua opens at 9 am so I was able to get a delicious, fresh and hot bowl of pho to warm up my belly. The pho broth was light, sweet and clean but still had the umami/deep rich flavor from the slowly cooked beef bones. I got the pho dac biet #10 which came with an assortment of meats, including a tender ox tail! My partner got rice platter #51 which had grilled pork chop, Chinese sausage, over hard fried egg, steamed rice, a little dish of fish sauce and a side of canh/clear broth. Both our dishes were the quintessential Vietnamese breakfast and of course we enjoyed them with cafe sua da or Vietnamese iced coffee as well. It was the perfect breakfast! 10/10
Every dish we order was ??? this is my to go spot whenever I come to Chicago or passing by.

Cute place. Very cozy. Staff is very efficient and attentive. We had the Super Bowl, lemongrass chicken and vietnamese iced coffee. It was good, lots noodles but, unfortunately my wife did not taste the lemongrass. Will try something different next time. Priced a tad higher usual. Will come back for another try.
This restaurant is like our second kitchen. It’s the family’s most fave Vietnamese Restaurant. The crispy boneless lemongrass catfish is a must and the 3 dishes pictured here. All the dishes are a must!
I’ve going here since I was a kid & I always come back! The food is very good and the flavor is consistent. My three favs are the grilled pork with vermicelli noodles, the combination fried rice, and the pho special!
Best pho in the city. The broth is so flavorful. The portions are huge. Highly recommended.
Ordered from here for the first time last night and can't say we were impressed. My chicken pho had no actual chicken meat in it, just odd meatless pieces of bones and skin. I think one of the pieces was the chicken back. Oh, and there were a couple gizzards in there. *bleh* So, basically, I had noodles and broth for dinner. On the up side, I was able to take the various chicken bones and skin and make stock with them this morning, so there's that.
We’ve been coming to this place for the past years but we are quite disappointed with our visit today. We ordered the regular stuffs we always order. Our stir fried ong Choy with beef wasn’t the same. the amount of beef is half less that it used to be. also when you order a maincourse that usually comes with jasmine rice they will not serve your rice with it if you happen to order a fried rice , you have to ask for it . The lady in her 50’s appears to be quite arrogant , when we were leaving she was in front of us she didn’t look so happy. so I said thank you to her maybe it’ll lighten up her mood but instead she gave this sarcastic answer “ yeah”!!! . I suggest they should upgrade their hospitality and be consistent with their foods.
I'm stuffed. Everything was so delicious I absolutely am coming back. We got some egg rolls, #10 which was the combination pho and we also got #58/#59 which was a fried noodle combination. Server and host were all so nice and welcoming.
