This place is dining as it should be. Situated on Fullerton in Logan Square, you park on the street and walk right in to the fabulous sitting area and spacious bar. Perfect for a quite conversation before or after dinner or just to have a great cocktail. The coconut margaritas were a hit but I enjoyed the Late Bloomer a sparkling cocktail of chambord and hibiscus flowers including an edible flower at the bottom of the glass. As you are escorted to the intimate dinning room the wall is lined with semi-private tables for two and the lighting is perfect. There are healthy sized appetizers of crab cakes and shadow shrimp that came with a gentle mango salsa. We had a complementary soup, potato poblano that was so delicious gentle warm and smooth to wake up the palate. We all wanted more. Dinner itself was amazing healthy portions and wonderful selection. No one was disappointed and all but one plate was completely clean. The house salad was perfect with mixed greens cramp and feta cheese, the asparagus was cooked to perfection, and the mashed potatoes were served in the shape of a heart. This night out was amazing. The only catch is you can only split a bill a max of 4 ways evenly only so either bring cash or be cool with that and for our group 20% gratuity was included which was cool cause our server was Awesome thanks Alex. Over all though This spot was totally worth it my only regret is I didn’t get a meal Togo.

Had the New York steak with mashed potato and house salad. Truly disappointed despite the great reviews on here and Yelp both. Server was really nice, though...

Nice, but not what I had in mind when I wanted to have a Chicago steakhouse dinner on my holiday visit. Certainly stands apart from other commerce in Logan Square with a sophisticated and dimly lit interior. Tables were nicely spaced wide apart. As for food, it was lacking overall. Creole shrimp appetizer was delicious and quite ample for $17. Two of them could had made a very nice entree. However, the quality of meat in the rib eye steak entree was lacking as was the portion size. Tangy sauce atop the rib eye was very good but that only goes so far with a slender and slightly fatty piece of undistinguished meat. Included potato puree and salad were very good. Side order of "grilled" vegetables were good although not grilled. Negroni cocktail was well prepared. Server was pleasant but meek and uninformed. Overall, we were underwhelmed although appreciative of the local effort. As for our own expectations, we should had gone to a more pricey steakhouse, as Penumbra has a weak footing billed as a steakhouse.

The restaurant has a nice, warm atmosphere and vibe. It is something in between fancy and casual. The interior was not much, but it was fine for me. The service is definitely great. Our server is friendly, helpful, and accommodating. We were a group of four when we ate here, and we really loved the whole experience. There were tables that had curtains, which is nice and great when you want some privacy while eating, which I think is best for any couple. They have a menu with a variety of options that includes vegetarian options. We ate different foods, from appetizers to dessert, and all I can say is that everything was good. The seafood and their steaks are the best and are definitely my favorites from all of the food that we ate. The dessert, which is a cheesecake, is also great, with a nice balance of sweetness. As for the prices, they are basically fair and reasonable and definitely not something expensive. Their prices are reasonable and worth it. This experience I had with this restaurant is enough for me to like it. I highly recommend this restaurant. It has a designated location, which is in Logan Square.

We booked a reservation to this restaurant for our family. We planned to eat our dinner here. We entered this restaurant and the waiter assisted us at our table. They even greet us. They gave us the menu and gave us time to choose what to order. When we said to him what we ordered he left in a nice way. While waiting we called some waiters to take some photos. We thanked him after that. After 20 minutes our order came. It took so long to camw our order since we ordered a lot.Their food was really great and yummy. It came in good plating. The price of it was expensive but worth the price. The staff was great and nice. We will definitely be back here again. We enjoy having it here.

My husband and I came here while visiting Chicago. Our travel agency had recommended some other places, but we canceled and decided this looked like it could be good. It was probably the best meal I’ve ever eaten in my life. My husband and i both did the surf and turf with a ribeye, both came out perfectly cooked and seasoned, with me getting the shadow shrimp and he getting the creole jalapeño shrimp (massive shrimp too- both were incredible). The potatoes were perfectly cooked, and the arugula salad with citrus vinaigrette was just out of this world. I don’t even like arugula and I was still genuinely sad when I finished it- I could eat it all day They also brought out a little cup of some broth, I forget what it was called. But it was phenomenal and an unexpected surprise. We finished with a lava cake of some sort with a raspberry drizzle. I also forget the name because I lost focus after he said raspberry drizzle. I cannot recommend this place enough. I am so sad that it’s not local to me- I will dream of this place until I can one day return! Out of all the places we gave eaten while here, this is the place we will remember forever. Seriously- do yourself a favor a go

Took a long cab ride out to try this place on our recent visit to Chicago and it was worth it. So romantic! The food, wine and service were top notch. Best part of the meal was dessert; the flan was out of this world! Never had it so good and I've had it in South America!

I almost cancel the reservation because some reviews said this place is too dark which is not true. You can adjust the table lamp brightness. $25 charge if no show on the reservation.Overall it was great experience. Atmosphere was intimate, friendly service and excellent food and wine knowledge, food was mild flavor for us but came out perfect temperature. Perfect pan seared steak with seasoning crushed tender and juicy. Very good seafood and pasta here as well. Really good list of wine by glass and bottles. Excellent price by bottles as well.Real bargain for us.

Our meal was absolutely delicious! I haven’t had a steak in years, and my flatiron steak was everything I could have asked for. Lovely staff, great date night ambiance.

This restaurant caught our attention when we were planning a modest reunion, so we opted to do it here instead of at any restaurant we tried before. Simply put, the eating space is breathtaking. We were seated at a semi-private table with beautiful sheer curtains, served by a fantastic server, and the food was very delicious!I'm glad I went forward with it! It was very excellent. There are a plethora of delicious dinners and snacks to choose from. I placed an order for scallops, shadow shrimp, surf and turf, and a molten brandy truffle for dessert. I was not disappointed cause they're all very tasty! When I initially came into the restaurant, it appeared to be rather ordinary and not particularly "fine," but don't be fooled by the plain exterior. When I return to Chicago, I'll make it a point to visit again. I have every intention of returning here in the near future! You can call and make a reservation over the phone; this is the option I would recommend if you want a semi-private table like what we had.
