I've worked a minimum wage job before..., yet always was expected to serve customers regardless of time...even those that showed up at closing time (8:59pm was when we arrived, with multiple couples after us). The entire staff pretended to be hearing impaired while all the indoor customers commented. All good! Going local from now on ?
Had a craving for ice cream, was in northern Chicago and happened upon this store. Had shake and a cone, both were great! Husband and I would definitely come back!!
Amazing place to grab ice cream. Went during a peak time and service was still quick. The shakes are so tasty here and I highly recommend this place!
They forgot to make our order so after waiting 20 minutes we had to go remind them that we were there waiting :( I recommend asking for your receipt after you pay in case they forget about you and lose your order like they did with ours. ;)Ice cream was good once we got it. Tasted like ice cream.
Everything is delicious here and I love the milk bottle exchange program they have. I love coming here every week all year long
I love oberweis for their wonderful ice cream but in all my years of visiting many locations this was my first time at this location on Tuesday night and it was disappointing. Walked in and two teens appeared to be making shakes clearly in the middle of something but hollered a hello with their hands full. Then what appears to be a manger/lead of some sort is walking near the cash register and doesn’t acknowledge us waiting and doesn’t offer to help. Mind you there was absolutely no other customers in this store or even dining in. We were the ONLY two customers. We stood at the counter awkwardly waiting as the manager stood to the side dealing with a box of some sort. This went on for about 5 minutes. It wasn’t until the young teen walked over and whispered to him if he could please help take our order. He looked less than thrilled and took his time dealing with his box before approaching the register. There wasn’t an ounce of friendliness in the transaction from him or even a greeting. I actually felt like an inconvenience. Then to top it off we go to sit down and every single table was gross and dirty. Again we were still the only two customers in there. Brownie sundae was made perfectly by the teens though!
I was a former Assistant Manager of Oberweis Lakeview and did my best to try and uplift and change the circumstances at this location. I had many concerns because the staff were very nasty and did everything in there power to half do their job. The manager DeAngela does not have the knowledge to successfully run any food establishment. She is unsanitary and allows workers to do whatever they want. The soft serve machine was left uncleaned for months at a time, when it’s supposed to be cleaned weekly. She would leave incoming food orders on the floor for days at a time. They steal the kids tips. None of the staff is properly trained. Please never eat the soft serve just go to another ice cream shop! The District Manager was notified and tried to sweep it under rub. That’s what Corporate Oberweis does when unsanitary conditions are brought to their attention. The previous store manager Adam was fired for stealing time and sleeping in the bathroom on his shift. This place is a real joke beware!
Everyone loves the Lake View Oberweis (especially Charles)
For as much as I paid for my ice cream they could of gave me a better ice cream. Lucky for Oberwise that the ice cream is good. Otherwise this is bad service
The ice cream sundaes are amazing. Do NOT get anything else. I ordered a caramel latte and it was terrible. I was looking forward to a coffe but this was very disappointing.
