Classic Honk Kong BBQ. Their roasted meats are just like you get in Hong Kong. Staff are great. They don't speak much English so be patient. I accidentally paid double for my meal and called them a few weeks later. The owner felt bad and found a way to reimburse me even though I live out of town and couldn't come back. Good food and service.
OMG, I can’t believe “Great Wall” is back, it’s called New Great Wall with old chef and new ownership and management. Great Wall roast meat “燒臘” was the first HK style roast meat that I tried in US, and that was more than 20 years ago. The old was going downhill with the cleanliness and hygienic but the roast meat taste is unbeatable. I felt sad that it was shut down when we visited Chicago last year but what a surprise, it’s back with new ownership with nice updated decor and ownership. The taste of the three meats combo didn’t disappoint me at all, it’s so flavorful and we decided not to get anything to go so we can promise ourselves to come back for another visit in the near future. The three meats combo comes with half salted egg and daily soup. I felt a bit disappointed that they substituted the salted egg with the regular boiled chicken egg. I think they should notify people about the changes. But anything other than that, I LOVE my three meats combo meal. The restaurant also offer parking center ticket validation, you only need to pay $2 for Peking less than 3 hours. New Great Wall, please keep it up and maintain your quality, I’ll be back!
My friend and I came here for a quick lunch in chinatown and this place did not disappoint. We got the bbq over rice with 3 items: roast pork belly, bbq pork belly, and roast duck. It comes rice, bbq meats, veggie, an egg, and soup for less than $15. The star of the show here the roast pork belly with the perfect crunch skin and soft flavorful meat. I’ll definitely come back to try more of their items, especially the roast pork belly!
The new and remodeled Great Wall BBQ is a must try. I found my new go to spot for chicken noodle soup. It has been a long time since I was able to find a place that makes thin broth noodle soup with chopped chicken. They have other bbq items too but I only come in for the chicken noodle soup! It’s $10 for a bowl of wholesome. Not a bad deal at all.
Great food and fast service and they give free tea
Really enjoyed my experience here we ordered multiple times and every time it was high-quality and very fresh ingredients
Newly renovated Chinese barbecue restaurant in the heart of chinatowns Square chicago. This spots specializes in all sorts of Cantonese Hong Kong style barbecue including the chicken pork roast pork and other assorted meat. barbecue items come in 1, or,3 item combos. Pro tip would be to take half a duck or a while duck home.
Omg this place is so good. I've tried many roasted duck in Chicago and I must say they do it the best. Juicy and tender with crispy skin... Love it!
Love their bbq selection. Their BBQ pork and roasted pork were delicious. The cherry on top was their salted egg! Perfect combination with any protein. I loved their noodle soup and their broth did not disappoint! The noodles were al dente but their broth was the star. It was simple yet flavorful. I highly recommend trying their soup noodles. If you dine in or take out, their rice box will come with complimentary soup. It was very hearty and perfect for a cold day.Their workers and customer service are great! They are efficient and nice.
Want to eat something delicious and not break the bank? Then this would be the place to be at. Very affordable price for a great portion of food, don’t sleep on it!From both the outside and inside of the restaurant, you can see the bbq meat and whole birds displayed in kitchen, just like how they do it in Hong Kong. For the rice dish, each order comes with soup du jour, steamed rice, veggie, and “salted” egg, which actually tasted more like tea eggs (it was yummy nevertheless). For just $8 you get a choice of meat, and only $2 to add another meat. I also wanted to try their silken tofu dessert but it didn’t happen. The staff were so helpful in helping us splitting the bill. They had also given me a generous amount of ginger scallion sauce (to add a little bit of ✨spice✨ to my siumei) upon request. Most of the customers who came in ordered the meat for takeout instead of dining in. We also got some meat to-go and it was so inexpensive! This is definitely one of my new favorite spots. Even if I’m not dining in I would come back for the bbq meat to-go!P.S. Everyone in your party has to show ID and vaccination proof to dine-in.
