Service calling in our order was great. Friendly staff. Nice environment when we walked in. However the breading on the chicken tenders was over cooked. Food was lacking flavor. Chicken was dry. This is just our opinion. Would not recommend. Pricey also.

After indulging in po' boy sandwiches and other traditional Cajun and Creole dishes while traveling along Louisiana's River Road, my wife and I couldn't wait to return to Chicago to sample the best po' boy sandwiches that the city has to offer. What is a po' boy sandwich? It is a Louisiana staple that varies from restaurant to town but, typically, a classic po' boy includes toasted French bread stuffed with some type of fried meat or fish or shrimp and dressed with tomatoes, romaine lettuce, pickles, mayo and a generous spread of hot sauce for a Creole kick. It is Louisiana's equivalent of a submarine sandwich. Classic fillings are fried oysters, fried shrimp, roast beef, crab, crawfish, baked ham, catfish, fried chicken and Louisiana hot sausage, even alligator, duck and rabbit. Upon further review, we determined that Mother Cluckers Kitchen produces the best po' boys in town. Located at 5200 North Elston Avenue, at Laporte and Foster, in the Sauganash neighborhood, it is open from 11 to 8 Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday and 11 to 9 on Friday and Saturday. Start with a bowl of home-made chili and choose one of four varieties of po' boy--shrimp, catfish, crawfish or chicken. I couldn't resist the shrimp po' boy--four fried shrimp with romaine lettuce and tomato with Remoulade sauce on a New England lobster roll. Sadly, my wife stilll isn't used to Cajun or Creole cooking. She preferred a pulled pork sandwich with seven ounces of pulled pork topped with coleslaw on a BBQ roll. No complaints. This is New Orleans style food, as good as advertised.

Really good food at very reasonable prices. None of us liked the baked beans but the other sides were all really good. Definitely will be back.

I can't believe I passed this place up so many times, and didn't stop to try it before. Starting with the customer service, from the moment we walked in until we left, everyone was so pleasant and attentive! Super friendly and efficient! We ordered the rib and chicken combo, with Mac & cheese, coleslaw, and hush puppies. Also added a cheddar Jalapeno cornbread muffin and fried onion strings. Everything was phenomenal and cooked to perfection!!! Chicken was crispy and juicy, ribs were fall off the bone tender. So delicious and full of flavor! I'm excited to try the other items on their menu! Thanks Mother Clucker's!!!:)

Bread pudding is a must have and the shrimp sandwich was excellent. Friendly staff and awesome service

I've been to Mother Cluckers Kitchen in any location for a lot of times and I consider their chicken as my favorite. I was looking for a spot where I can eat and this location of Mother Cluckers Kitchen is one of the nearest spots from where I was so I decided to eat in here. I was actually very excited before when I was on my way to this restaurant. The place was kind of packed when I arrived. I just order the four pieces broasted chicken which comes with few sides including the biscuits and mac and cheese. I also got dome fresh fries. Service was slow which is understandable since the place was already before I went inside. The chickens were hot but it was dry but even if it is dry, it still tastes good and flavorful however it is really dry and being it dry is not really appetizing for me even it is good. The biscuits were more on the hard side reason why I did not finish it but I love the mac and cheese and I was able to finish it as well as the fresh cut fries which is crispy, hot and perfectly seasoned.

This is one of the hidden gems I suggest you should try. A personal favorite of mine. I highly recommend the breaded chicken sandwich ? add mayo and you in there. Always on point with the orders. Reasonably priced. They have a very clean and organized establishment. The jalapeño muffin’s they have are must as well. They did forget my sides one time and that hurt ??but all in all we’re all human. I still highly recommend this place.

I LOVE THEM SO MUCH! They’re apple juice is so good and it usually come in such a cute kids cup that we love! I always get the carrot cake and bread pudding because they are to die for! The chicken fingers are also amazing! 100% recommend getting from them.

The atmosphere is amazing as well as the food. I got the biscuits and gravy and they did not let me down. The service was really great as well! check them out!

My 1st time going was Dec.20th , I ordered 8 piece chicken & a half slap of Ribs. It was very good , the rib tender, juicy, meat falling off the bone..We gave it 5 stars..But on Dec. 23rd 2021. I ordered two full slabs of ribs.. One of the cooks got angry when We asked for sauce on the fries..told the waiter no , you do it ..the waiter said it would make the fries soggy..Now the Ribs .mine was burnt.l am talking black on the bottom. Very dry, tuff,. No way near my first visit..I could not eat it , had to just throw half my slap away away. And No one in the kitchen were wearing masks..the young lady either..only one was taking it off .we thought we found a place. Make sure the boss lady is there.also had to drive back for one of my sides..
