We are back at Moody’s after being away for about 7 years. It refreshing to see that not much has changed… in a very good way. It’s a perfect ‘hole in the wall’ neighborhood pub. The food and the beer are great!Isaac was a perfect server. He was attentive without being overbearing and gave us the room to hang out and relax. He even set an alarm on his phone to come back and check on us when we said we were going to enjoy our pitcher of beer before ordering. In short, he made us feel at home. Kudos to Moody’s for having him on staff. Thank you Isaac! This man deserves a raise!
Their burgers are wonderful. They even have chicken, turkey, and veggie burgers. It is a limited menu, but it is all well made. Beer selection is pretty good and cocktails are okay. But you wouldn't expect a burger bar to have the best margarita.Great atmosphere to spend time with friends and drink a few rounds, but sometimes the interior can be very hot in summer so if you're sensitive to that, keep it in mind.
This place is a classic! In warm weather you can dine outside in a courtyard filled with mature trees. In a time when the same Chicago location can see three businesses come and go in one year, this hasn't changed for decades. While that might not appeal to some who enjoy following trends, it appeals to those who find comfort in the familiar. The interior is quite dark and unremarkable but in or out, you will always get friendly service and delicious burgers. Try it if you haven't yet!
So nice place, with large cool garden. Food is very nice, but can get over that mild, warm beer...
My first visit. Had a craving for a cheese burger. Glad I chose this cozy spot. Will definitely be back!
Great burgers, I think the Bleu cheese burger is the best. Sangria is awesome but bring a friend or two and get a pitcher. It has a nice outdoor seating area, plenty of shaded areas that are perfect for summertime. It's a nice place to go when your riding bikes as well as a dedicated parking lot for those who prefer to drive. I lived nearby for many years but moved away but always try and make it over when I'm visiting town.
Burger was great. Raining so we ate inside which was kind of dark but cozy with fireplaces. I didn't pay so I'm not sure what the total bill was but waitress guided us in cost efficient bar choices. You can't beat the price on the burger. It's huge for $10
Definitely a hole in wall restaurant. At first glance you might think to pass by them, but don't. Their food is very good. Their fries are fresh hand cut every day. Their burgers were delicious. I had the blue cheese burger and it was very good. The staff was nice and it was definitely worth the money. Stop on by if you are looking for a good burger in north Chicago.
Moody's continued through the pandemic, the winters, the clear-cut disasters of anything that should've shut down stronger or flashier businesses, but here is where a great burger, fries, a starting ordr of onion rings, a good menu, great beers ad private time to chat with a friend are top-priority. I have an old friend near here, and we periodically catch up over food and one-too-many beers routinely. It's a dark inside pub with a fireplace, and in warmer weather, the beer garden is two levels (kinda) of iron table beneath and around trees and many feisty birds hoping for a dropped fry.Through many, many good or terrible points in my life, Moody's served the food and served it perfectly every single time. God bless this place and places like it.Moody burger with cheese, grilled onion and that brioche bun with those perfect skin-on fries.
Great price to value ratio here. This is a really nice neighborhood dive bar with great burgers and affordable drinks. I recommend buying pitchers of beer/bottles of wine, if you’re looking to get more bang for your buck.
