They have karaoke and it’s usually not too crowded.
I wanted to write this review, because me and a group of my friends decided to visit this place to drink and do karaoke. After walking in, my friends wanted to get on the list to sing first before doing anything else, and we were told by the bouncer that we would have to buy a drink. I have no problem with this since that is apart of the plan. When my group decided to go ahead and figure out what we wanted to order the bouncer came over and said that we needed to hurry and order or else get kicked out. We were in there for less than two to three minutes.I don’t know if they don’t believe a group of black and Latino people will spend money, but telling someone that they have to immediately buy a drink without looking at what they want is ridiculous. Especially when white people were not told to immediately buy nor constantly harassed. To anyone who reads these reviews to see if a place is good to attend I advise you take your business someplace else. This business obviously doesn’t know what customer service is especially when you read their replies to bad reviews.Edit: as you can see from the response, terrible business and I would not recommend anyone to go there with such a terrible owner. Also to the owner go ahead and post the video because as you will see in the end before we left we were looking at the drink menu to purchase something, but I did not like their tone. So yeah, that’s real,
Staff was very attentive and friendly!!! Loved it there on my visit to the city
So read the responsible response from the business ……. Being kind and honest would go a long way, when you can excuse proper conduct away you’ve lost site of what’s important. This was not my fight I watched something that was wrong and tried to bring light to something that could be easily changed.Karaoke master was all about his tip and the regulars, family waited for their child to sing eventually left after being told twice they were next don’t tip the guy as you’ll get out tipped and they will tell ya what you want to hear.
Never been a big fan of karaoke but I went to Moms one night with my wife and had a great time! The big guy with the beard behind the booth did a great job with our request. I recommend this bar for anyone visiting Chicago.
Dan! Is the best Karaoke DJ on Saturday night. He knows the best jams and always plays them right away. Can’t wait to go back! Love Moms place. Always a good time.
Cool little local watering hole. Few drafts, more drinks, and I heard they have a pool table downstairs, but we were encouraged to not crash the party they had going on! ?
Went to Mom’s last night for the first time and I had a lot of fun and they had great live music! The reason for the 1 star is that I was kicked out for being rude to the bartender(which I was) simply due to the fact that she was VERY rude to me right off the bat. Maybe she was having a bad night, but she immediately called the bouncer over and that led to me being asked to leave. Also, I read through many of the reviews prior to posting this and when the owner has no grounds to explain the poor review, he/she defaults to, “Must have us confused with another place.” I know that I was at this bar.
Karaoke master has no mannners. Simple instruction would be welcome. Instead he makes guests feel unwelcome. I’ll never be back. If you would like to sing. It’s not here. Everything can be handled without being rude. Could be a great place. Ruined it for a party of over 30 for a birthday party.
Owner has a serious temper and I felt extremely uncomfortable around him. Ladies be careful.Response to owner:Older big white male with a beard claiming to be the owner. I’m 100% sure I did not get the place wrong.
