Delcious coffee. Great attention to detail as you might expect from a name like metric. Great space to see the roasting process. Nice patio if you want to sit outside and sip away.
Metric Coffee is a cozy place that during the warmer months offers outdoor seating. Their mocha was very good as well as their lattes. you can buy at the store or order online. Take home and brew or buy ready. their service was fast and accurate. have come back for pickup and soon we will eat outside once it starts getting warmer again.
Amazing little gem, as soon as you open the door you will be hit with the wonderful smell of coffee, nice staff, good selection of coffee and donuts available. I had the nitro coffee which was perfect for a Sunday morning! Will sure come back. I would also recommend this place to locals and out of town visitors. 2 thumbs up!!
This is for the quality of the product… stellar. Hands down, awesome. Customer service however suffers from the same malaise that many coffee places do. Slow, inattentive staff that will often border on insulting. To be clear, not all staff, but in 3 out of 5 times I have been this is the case. Latest among them is when at 5 minutes after supposed to be open, the only person working prioritize getting his significant other waiting in the car outside a drink, then proceeds to set out chairs and tables under a pergola on a raining morning. When I asked if he was open yet he stammered to say he was the only person working and after he gets tables and chairs set up he will open. The other interactions are similar with often disdainful language from staff and customers alike. It’s difficult to deal with let alone control customers, but after living in the area and patronizing businesses here for near 20 years this place falls into the category of “excellent product, spotty service”
All the big coffee outlets are a scam. Visit your neighborhood coffee shops. Metric coffee is an example. Amazing coffee.
Really good espresso single origin. No seating inside at all though. They have a max of 3 people inside so you can’t even stand inside to drink your shot. No seating outside either. They don’t have their avocado toast anymore, just a few donuts and pastry.A little disappointed we took an Uber from downtown to check this place out but had to leave 5 min after arriving because it was so cold outside and nothing around this place. Probably would not come here during winter again at all. Maybe summer would be ok if you wanted to just stand outside and drink.
Bought some coffee beans for a friend who is really into it. My coffee knowledge is pretty limited. The employee behind the counter was pretty helpful and knowledgeable with suggesting a bean for my friend that she would like based off of what she's had before.Coffee smelled delicious and the space was well-designed, and also had some limited-run beans. Would love to come back and get some coffee for myself next time I'm in town :)
This coffee shop has a friendly staff and a awesome coffee and espresso selection with something always new to try. The pastries are also good. I highly recommend this coffee shop.
Perfectly textured milk is an art form. Not to discount their fantastic latte art abilities, but latte art does not ensure perfect texture. Anyone practiced can do latte art with milk that is ~80% of what “perfect texture” is.Steaming milk is easy to get good at, but very difficult to master. Different drinks require different milk temperatures (based on the ratio of milk:espresso since espresso is hotter), and levels of aeration (the amount of foam). The barista must be conscious of these variables while still creating a dense micro-foam that doesn’t collapse as you sip.Kudos to the training and passionate culture present at Metric. They do many things superbly, but from my experience, they do milk perfectly.
The best coffee in Chicago by far. The staff are extremely kind and knowledgeable. I became a coffee drinker after having Metric.
