Nice atmosphere and decor. The beef empanada was delicious - fluffy, sweet, and savory crust, flavorful and juicy filling. I didn't really care for the breakfast meal (egg roll version); the empanada is a very convincing argument that I simply ordered poorly.
The food was ok, but the decor looks weird and uninviting.
Im fan of the fish and beef empanadas.
As a hungry Northeastern student taking night classes, Merla's Kitchen has been awesome. I highly recommend the empanadas. One is enough for a big snack, two of them make for a full meal.
Amazing food. Probably my new favorite Filipino restaurant in the city. Everything I tasted was amazing. Namely, the chicken adobo, pan said, and fish empanada. Will definitely come back
Dined for a late lunch Tuesday 7/6. Texted early in the morning for reservations for 9 people. Empanadas are REALLY GOOD! Ordered the beef and chicken, lots of filling and the crust was slightly sweet. Bus sooo tasty. We ordered the Shanghai lumpia and the Pancit Bihon from the catering page. Both were good and satisfying. But we also ordered individually. Two of us had the Lechon Kawali, my partners lechon was nice, hot and crispy. Mine was on the warm side and parts of the pork too dry.Two others ordered fried wings (they could make up their mind, but they said it was good). Another ordered chicken Afrida and empanada entree. And another ordered the vegetable dish. There was a bit too much soy based sauce.Pleas remember this is a one or two woman show. Food did come out slowly.Suggestion if you dined there before or are familiar with Filipino cuisine. ORDER beforehand. Place your order about an hour prior to arriving.
The best restaurant the food is so amazing so rare the flavors so authentic best food ever!!!
