Got the dry chili chicken and salt and pepper tofu. Both dishes were tasty and made with high quality ingredients. The environment is clean and the service is really nice too! Would definitely come back!
Visit here, definitely. Egg drop soup is alright, nothing great. Fried rice is very good. I like to try the basic dishes first. If they can make a good fried rice and noodles, they can usually make anything good. The interior is nice and clean, and it’s been on the Michelin guide for 4 years in a row. Good place.
Very nice food big portions can’t go wrong 5*
Come for their special grilled fish. Cool presentation with a wonderfully spicy and flavorful broth that the fish is simmered in. The spicy dumplings were also pretty good. Staff were friendly and we didn't wait too long for food. I'd definitely come back to try more dishes. Prices are reasonable.
The best Chinese food I’ve had in chicago!!! Loved the honey pepper shrimp, Dan Dan noodles & chengdu spicy dumplings! Also got the sweet & sour short ribs but found them hard to eat with all the tiny bones. Service was excellent & very attentive. Luckily, we didn’t have to wait for a table as the place is pretty small. Can’t wait to take family & friends back here & try other menu items!
First time here. Staff was very friendly and on point. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Food was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth. Portions are large so be aware. Will come back to check out the rest of the menu.
Dan dan noodles, spicy wonton, and the sichuan string beans are to die for. Next time I’ll try mapo tofu. :)
Dan dan noodles and spicy wonton ❤️
This by far has to be the BEST restaurant experience I have had in Chinatown (Chicago) to date! Everything was fresh and delicious! My friends and I had the Szechuan influenced spicy shrimp and dumplings as appetizers and then we had the chili chicken and don don noodles as our entrees (we shared entrees). Simply delectable!!!!! Everything was top notch from the food to the service and the restaurant ambiance. I would give it a 20 out of 10 if I could! If you are looking for quick delish Chinese restaurants to check out, I would definitely check this place out. Only down side was that they did not have as many drink options (like boba tea) that their nearby counterparts did, but thats a drop in the bucket as the food is the main event!
4-24-2022Cheng Du Spicy Wonton is much better than Cheng Du Spicy Dumpling. The only reason I know this is because this is the second time they gave me dumplings instead of wontons. Customer service was fantastic though. They credited my card back right away.My friends love the Szechuan Dan Dan Noodle, Honey Black Pepper Chicken and Signature Dry Chili Chicken. I always get the Dan Dan Pork Fried Rice when ordering for pick-up because I hate soft noodles. It’s on the salty side, but I like it. Also I prefer Lao Sze Chuan’s dan dan noodles and dry chili chicken instead.
