There's a reason they've been around for over 100 years... This place is oozing with nostalgia of the "Good Ol Days"... The best ice cream sundae you'll ever have, and the experience is even better. If you're anywhere near here, you have to stop in!

I ordered the bucktown sundae, without marshmallows. Not because i didn't want them, though. Despite searching all over, no marshmallows were in sight. My friend said they might have put them in the fudge because my fudge super thick (which i loved). The atmosphere is neighborly and like traveling to another time. Sad that they don't have Marzipan anymore. Also wish you could order the junior sundae if you're over 12. The booths are adorable but rickety.

Came here with my family, and the experience was very pleasant. One day after passing by so many times we decided to come in and see what it’s like inside. Great ice cream and food we even had seconds. Will definitely be back.

Excellent desert choices. Ice-cream is wonderfully displayed and delicious. The wafers are so fresh and tasty! The service was outstanding!!! We drove from Northwest IN to the Bucktown location, and it was worth the visit - even with outrageous gas prices! We will definitely be back!!! ???

This place is truly the BEST place to go for ice cream in Chicago. You feel transported in time because of the antique decor. They have individual juke boxes at each booth. It's very cute. But the ice cream is to die for. I love the presentation. I ordered a strawberry sundae and it came in this insanely large clam bowl with lots of whipped cream, nuts and a cherry on top with their scrumptious vanilla wafer. The price is so reasonable, which is great as well. I paid under $14.00 for 2 sundaes. The service was excellent as well. My daughter's eyes got big with excitement when she saw the masterpiece of a sundae placed in front of her. If you're new to the city, you have to go to Margie's. It is a Chicago icon.

The wait-list was super long for dine in if you come on Saturday afternoon. Luckily they have a small counter for takeouts. It's busy but the wait wasn't too bad. They have a huge selection of flavors. Hot fudge is the plus!

Enjoyed sundaes with our 6-year-old for the first time at this century-old Bucktown favorite. The kiddo had never had hot fudge before and was suspicious of this new food but was quickly won over by the rich, thick hot fudge served in a gravy boat on the side. Pouring "as much as I want??" hot fudge on the sundae was a special treat, met with wide eyes and big grins. No special occasion, just a fun Saturday family outing. Appreciate the staff helping to clear space in their cozy but tight quarters for my husband's wheelchair. Enjoyed some laughs and left with a few hot fudge mustaches!

Margie's Candies has been around for more than a century, and it's with good cause. If you're looking to have a delicious sundae, an old fashioned soda, or a classic handmade candy, there is no better place in Chicago to make it happen.

This had been my birthday ice cream spot for a few years. I can’t say enough good things! My go to is a hot fudge banana spit with a side of the raspberry sauce.

If you are visiting Chicago, this is a must visit place. I am touched by the fact that this shop has been there for 100 years.Inside the restaurant, you can feel the environment of ice-cream shop 100 years ago. I was told that the seating arrangement and furniture were exactly the same since 1921.Hope they offer more sugar free ice cream.Love the menu “Royal George”, especially the part where they mention if you can finish alone…..
