Great menu tons of options. We went on a Sunday morning and they were very busy we got right in. The staff all works very hard to accommodate everyone. I ordered the Denver skillet. It was supposed to come with ham and I got bacon. The coffee was very good and a man was always coming by to refill the coffee and water. Very friendly and the food was very fresh.

Nice cozy place and the lady serving us was very sweet. We went with the specials and that's where things went downhill. First, there was no mention of the price of the specials on the board. We ordered the French toast and the steak skillet. The steak was so rubbery that it was difficult to chew. It was not the best. The French toast was decent but it wasn't sweet as you expect from the French toast. The coffee was decent, not good. We also added the apple pie and it was extra sweet. This is something that was way too much for the breakfast. The shocker came at the end when the bill came out to be $72. I still can't process the steak skillet my wife had which was all chewy was freaking $28. She said she wished she had the Dunkin donuts sandwich across the street. My French toast also seemed overpriced. Two stars only for the warm welcome by the attenders.

The most amazing service I’ve ever received at any restaurant ever. Audrey was absolutely busting her tail throughout the morning rush, Jorge was completely on top of everything despite them being understaffed that day, and the food was absolutely impeccable. We couldn’t have asked for a better breakfast, all around. After the rush cooled down Audrey even took time to get to know us, recommend places in Chicago to visit, introduce us to the owner - just incredible. We greatly appreciated the conversation and hospitality. A complete must for any Chicago trip!

Good service. Food was good. Fast service. Typical diner food. I had open faced tuna melt and fries. They gave me enough fries for several people. Food was fresh!

Great service and breakfast was good and filling! The dining area is not very big so the tables are not far enough apart for my liking, but because of vaccination requirements, we were comfortable on what seemed like a pretty busy Saturday afternoon. This was one of the first stops in Chicago on a weekend trip from Ohio and seeing how diligent staff were on requesting vaccination cards really made my day! Great job on keeping customers safe!

Service was outstanding and the food was delicious. Cream of Turkey Soup was the best. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and bakery to everyone. Prices were reasonable!

Where to start? This is exactly the type of breakfast place that my boyfriend and I love going to, when on vacation. Let me just say that not only was Lou Mitchell's highly recommended to us, it also did not disappoint!! The staff were incredibly friendly and sweet! Audrey (the boss) is Amazing, but definitely not someone you want to mess with! ? She goes out of her way to take care of her customers, and also her employees!! Jorge, another employee, was cracking jokes with us and made sure we were well taken care of. The banter between Audrey & Jorge was great, and their mutual respect for one another was evident. We got the Espindole & ham/cheese omelets, which were fluffy and delicious! While waiting for our food, Audrey brought us donut hole and orange wedge - a perfect little appetizer before our meals. All in all, Lou Mitchell's has become one of our favorite spots in Chicago. And we can't wait to go back....probably tomorrow, if I'm being honest!

This place is amazing! I ordered the vegetarian omelet, and the eggs were the fluffiest I’ve ever had. The service was top notch. I did not get my waitresses name, but she was so friendly and made me feel like I’ve been going there my entire life.

Looking for lunch after getting off of the train, this was a good find. Although they were busy, they got us seated right away. Service was brisk, as it needed to be. The food was fine. No wifi.

Omelettes, corned beef hash and eggs, great coffee.
