Went here with my mom when she came to visit from out of town to try somewhere upscale in my neighborhood. We decided to sit at the bar… there were ants were all over the end of the bar and we received dirty glasses. The bartender was discreetly wiping them away when we were trying to enjoy our appetizers. Ledges and other surfaces were pretty dusty as well. It was pretty off-putting to feel like things weren’t clean.

Rafael was great and his suggestions were very good. The octopus was a bit tough, but the whole medley of the dish made up for it. The fried veggies were good. Salmon was cooked perfectly, but the sweetness of the broth distracted the whole dish. The seafood stew was excellent, especially the sauce for dipping with bread Spanish style.

Great food, wonderful service !

Met a friend for dinner. He's a former Chef and well traveled foodie who suggested we try it as it's been on his list for over a year.We picked two Apps each and two different mains and shared off every plate. Everything was delicious. The wine by the glass was a touch more than standard and the staff was attentive and polite with suggestions when asked (opposed to a push towards a special).Food is plentiful as well - toward the end of the meal we both said it's a pleasantry to end the main course feeling full in a 'French' restaurant.Very happy with the food, service and staff - look forward to sharing this place with friends.Thank you Le Sud.Gregory

Enjoyed brunch with my daughter and her family. Family friendly But not able to get a booster seat for my 3 year old granddaughter.

We had a celebration dinner with a small group and everything was fantastic. Our server was so helpful with a few dietary restrictions at our table and was able to make them work into great entrees. We never felt rushed and were able to enjoy our cocktails, small plates, entrees, desserts and even some champagne at our own pace. The dishes were delicious and the portions were a great size. You’d pay twice as much for the same food in River North or West Loop. It’s a nice space and just overall a gem of Roscoe Village. Perfect place to celebrate!

I have not had dinner here yet, but attended a wine tasting last night that was absolutely wonderful! They gave so much information about the region and back stories about the people, very interesting. The wines were great, and I enjoyed trying Italian wines that were new to me. It was a fun group and very interactive. Can't wait to go back!

It is our first time dining at Le Sud but definitely we will be back. Food is great and so is service.

I tried to schedule a reservation on line. Couldn’t make one for one person. So I emailed them. Later when they were open, I called and she made one right away. I then literally hung up and looked at my emails, and there was a response from them saying they were completely booked!?!?! Not! Why lie? The menu was very limited. No real salad as I know one. My chicken dish came nice and crispy as he promised, but in a ‘soup’ I wasn’t warned about so the crispy ness was gone immediately. The ‘soup’ was mostly onions which imparted a way too sweet flavor to the chicken and caused me to not be able to leave the bathroom for hours the next day. Wouldn’t go back.

Nice neighborhood spot with outdoor seating. I enjoyed the food!
