Good service and great food
Authentic and delicious German food and beer. For visitor, it had the classic city watering hole vibe I was looking for. A place the locals love based on my conversations with the friendly folks in there and the sweet but sassy bartender.

Great old fashioned German restaurant and bar on the north side. Selection of beer is great. Even have my fav, Augustiner!
My VERY German husband loves this VERY German place. He always exclaims that Laschet's is the closest to a good old-fashioned home-cooked German meal that he's ever had in the US. Talk about a resounding seal of approval! I love the bratwurst dinner plates and the giant pretzel (ONLY when served with Obatzda [Bavarian cheese] -- that's the law!). The beer selection is extensive, and you will absolutely find some of the classics here. If you want an authentic German/Bavarian experience, this is your place! Sehr lecker!
I don't know of a more classic German restaurant in Chicago. All my buddies love this place. The Hackepeter (sp?) Is a must. My friend had the sausage platter which he said was great. I had the pork shank special which was delicious and enough for 3 people. I recommend the place!
