food service could be faster since there was 1 table when we arrived . Friendly bartender. Very yummy hot food! Nice and clean .
I was there today. Honestly, food wasn't good. They had no Alcapurrias, no papas rellenas. Food took a long time. I won't be back. ¡lo siento!
Very bad service from the waitress. We ask her for appetizers and she never brought them and she brought the food that took about a hour and she said that she never put in the order for the appetizers but she said that she was going to take it out of the check. So she lied.I will never go to that restaurant againg. The restaurant was empty so there was no excuse for the bad service. That female waitress need to go. Not friendly at all and doesn't like her job.Sorry just being honest. Manager please make some changes. The food was good.
As a latina, you want to support local businesses and restaurants in the Latino community. Sucks when the service is not the greatest. Walked in and no one was available to greet or even show us to a table. We were just standing there trying to figure out the seating. A gentleman that worked the bar passed us by a few times and didn’t even acknowledge us.After a few minutes we finally get have a seat. The young server gave us the menus and didn’t come back for about 10/15 minutes to bring water or take our order. At this point bothered I got up and went to find a server. An older lady apologized and helped cud get started. Maybe 30mins later the first server comes and asks if someone took our order ? THIRTY MINUTES later! The food: Appetizer was decent.Arroz con gandules was a little bland. The bistec encebollado, had a lot of fat .The white rice was still hard. Like, come on! How do you mess up white rice ??♀️In conclusion, not the greatest dining out experience.
This restaurant is unlawful to disable people. We came today to visit, and they did not allow for dining because my Down Syndrome daughter has a service dog. The host asked for a license for the service dog. I explained that they do not need a license (I tried to educate them) and asked to talk to the manager. The manager came out and told me that the owner did not allow dogs to enter the restaurant. I explained to him the unlawfulness of his action, and he said the owner would kill him if he allowed us in, which the owner prohibited. They did not allow us to dine with our disabled daughter and her dog. The restaurant violated the following Illinois law: The Service Animal Access Act and White Cane Law are state criminal laws that guarantee the right of a person with a disability to be accompanied by a service animal in public.
Good spot for a quick lunch. Empanadas are great...the drink I had was just ok. Service made up for it as they were very polite.

Fantastic food with a real homey vibe! The staff treats you like family, and it makes you wanna come back over and over. Don’t pass this spot up!
Solid P.R food. Could use more soul to bring in the flavors. Lechon was slightly dry. Coming from P.R I feel like there was room for improvement.
Omg. Food was so good I teared up with memories of my G-mas cooking. Awesome food.
