It was totally different from what we had 2 years ago. Not just food, but environment, service all go down.Firstly, barely no costumers at Saturday noon. We were surprised at first. Only one server and one chef in the restaurant.Second, the high chair was so dirty with dirt and food residue that hasn’t been cleaned for a very long time. Take a look at the second picture, dirt is all over the chopsticks storage box.Thirdly, many dishes are not available right now. We ordered 3 bowls of ramen, one pork don. All ramen came without eggs, and server didn’t tell us until we asked her. She said we are out of eggs. Meanwhile, the chicken ramen is out of chicken as well, and substitute with pork. The serving size of ramen is dramatically reduced compared with previous,it was obviously not enough for a adult male with regular appetite. My husband has to ordered pork don to make it up. Look at the fried calamari, the serving size is so small and without dipping sauce.Lastly, the server asked us if we can pay the check while we are still eating. Unbelievable! And the price of each dish is different from menu shows. Then we asked server, she said the menu is not updated yet. Ridiculously!Yes, the pandemic has affect everything and price is going up. But the management should realize everything needs to be changed and improved, otherwise I will not surprise see it shut down.
Decent place for ramen. The price is very reasonable, but you may get what you pay for. Spicy ramen is not very flavorful. The karaage in the Karaage Don was good but the rice was very stale. Mixed bag overall.
We ordered 2 ramens and 2 sides of dumplings for take out online. After we arrive to pick it up, we notice in the car while we're checking our order there wasn't any dumplings. We go back inside to notify them and it's then they tell us they're out of dumplings. We're told we'll receive a refund but a 1.5 weeks later and still no refund.Tonoktsu Ramen was mediocre, not bad but I've had better.
Ordered online from this location through toasttab. Went to go pick takeout and the place is closed. Kizuki happily taking $$ from at least several people in the past week?Called them everyday after this incident…nobody is picking up? What gives?

I ordered the Hakata Tonkotsu. The description promised me "strong, rich pork flavored broth [...] topped with succulent pork belly". The broth was not strong, nor rich, nor even particularly pork-flavoured. I thought something was wrong with my taste buds, but no, the pork itself was pretty good (though not what I would describe as succulent). Before COVID lockdowns, Kizuki was second on my list for best Ramen in Chicago. Since then, unfortunately, both locations have failed to deliver on multiple occasions. The edamame was a bit salty, to the point of burning my tongue. Perhaps this played a hand in my perception of the broth's flavour, but I doubt it. Regardless, the edamame was still good.Service was friendly and prompt. Alcoholic drinks are top-notch, as usual.
You’re looking for an authentic Japanese experience and don’t have time to travel to Manhattan, Kizuki the will quench any far-east dinning thirst you may have. From the hip Ramen bar ambience to the Japanese characters written at the bottom of your bowl thanking you for your business this restaurant delivers. Highly recommend.
Food is great, but hours are extremely finicky at the New City location. Been there several times recently (checked Google first), when it was supposed to be open.... But wasn't. Ended up going to restaurants nearby (Tecalitlan across the mall is awesome, thanks Kizuki for being closed!). Also tried calling them but goes to a full voicemail. I have been going to Kizuki for several years now (especially the Wickerpark location), but I may stop trying to go here cuz there are tons of ramen options now that are similar in quality. With reliable hours. Might miss my go-to yuzu shio ramen, but oh well....
Horrible service. Placed order for pick up, they completely forgot to fill my order. Didn't look into it until I was sitting there for 15 minutes. Finally said they would remake the order. Gave me the complete incorrect items. This is especially annoying when you pay per topping and I was given NONE of what I selected. Will not be returning. Plenty of other better ramen places in the city
Best ramen in town! Spicy ramen was excellent! The staff are very helpful and nice.
