Very cozy store with classic Polish and Ukrainian food and deli. Supporting Ukrainian community here and in Ukraine.
Eastern European, high end Ukrainian and Polish food deli. Great products and very hospitable staff. Very reasonably priced. Excellent short term parking.
I love this deli. Old school food. Great service, clean and well stocked. If you are pooling for a taste of Europe this is a good start.
Best pierogis in Chicago! We buy in bulk every time we go. Love the potato, cheddar and jalapeño; spinach; and sauerkraut pierogis. 8 packs for $28, about 16 per pack. Authentic food, broad deli selection, and always busy so you know it’s a great local spot.
Good quality food, local favorite
It's 8:20 and I'm headed there rn while it's not busy. Perfect deli. And, people, remember the ladies behind the counter deserve patience and respect (don't ask them to build your picnic for you). The food is delicious, don't ever see myself being disappointed. It's a very nice place.
My family moved into West Town from another part of Chicago two years ago, and we have been going to Kasia's regularly for the duration. The food is good. Basically every menu item is good, and I feel that I've probably tried 75%+ of all sandwiches and ready-food from below the counter. Of course, if you wanted a "great to excellent" Ruben, there are places that are more dedicated to that type of food that are "better," but Kasia's is a strong contender. The service here is abysmal bordering on comical. If there are 3-4 people in line ahead of you, you will be here for 30 minutes to get a cold-cut turkey sandwich - minimum. On occasion, I walk in and I am the only customer they have, and it still takes 15ish minutes to get me out the door with two deli sandwiches. They are logjammed completely when there are also online orders, as those don't seem to be prepared in advance, so they stop acknowledging the walk-in customers to attend to the already-late online orders. If you care about your time, realize that they do not - however, they do make good food.
As a life long resident of West Town / Ukrainian Village (I lived in what we call The Patch), My family has been enjoying Kasia's Deli since they opened their doors. One of the best handmade sandwiches, salads, pierogis, etc. in the city!!!! Everything there is delicious!! Definitely the very best pierogis I have ever had.
Kazimiera "Kasia" Bober opened her Polish delicatessen in 1982. Located at 2101 West Chicago Avenue in Chicago's Ukrainian Village/East Village neighborhood, between Damen and Western, it offers a fine and extensive selection of home-made Eastern European food, including soups and sandwiches and salads and cold cuts and entrees such as lasagna and veal meatballs and Hungarian stew and what is described as "the best pierogi in Chicago." One local food critic said Kasia's is "the best place in town for home cooking." Open from 8 to 7 Monday through Friday and 9 to 6 on Saturday, Kasia's sandwiches are top-notch. Try Kasia's Polish sausage with warm traditional smoked Polish sausage with melted Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, caramelized onion, mayo and mustard on a roll. Or the Irish corned beef with warm shaved corned beef with melted Swiss cheese, lettuce, pickle and mustard on rye with sauerkraut on the side. Or the Irish Reuben with warm corned beef with melted Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and 1,000 Island dressing on toasted marble rye. Or the Italian special with hard salami and smoked pork butt with provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo and mustard on a roll. My personal favorite is turkey and Swiss, honey smoked turkey breast with Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion and mayo on a roll. With a bowl of chicken noodle soup or minestrone or beef chili or tomato with rice or creamy vegetable. Top it off with a pierogi or cheese blintz.
Amazing!!! Love this place!!! Great place to grab some delicious food!!!! Super customer service!!! Highly recommend!!!
