Went here for the first and last time! Only because my regular spot was closed for remodel. Got the chicken dinner the meat was sticky like gum. The sides were just okay but to top it off I instantly got diarrhea after eating here. They are definitely no jerk villa that’s for certain!
Was only given two oxtails with nth but far no meat yams not cut just hard whole sweet potatoes without any sweetness would not recommend
No way hell no it’s taste like dirty food and salty in the food. This place custom aren’t Jamaican. Oxtail look like not brown well-being and stew chicken look like not brown. All food look like from Africa or Haiti.I am full Jamaican as I am chef. Your place need shut down as all of you are fail fail fail failure failure failure
They definitely fell off!!!!Very small portions. OVERLY SALTY….They picked over the fish to find the smallest ones. Red beans and rice and macaroni and cheese tasted the same, and my cabbage was dry… how???? That was the very last time for me. I would feel bad for even giving this to a homeless person seeing as though I just made myself regurgitate!!!!
STAY AWAY! This is by far the worst Jamaican food I’ve ever had. I didn’t even know food could be that bad. I’m not lying. The food was extra old and salty. The rice was almost like mashed potatoes, the cabbage was tasteless and bland, and the chicken was overcooked. Sauce was horrible. They made it and put it in then microwave for like 2 minutes so basically they re-cooked it and treated me like I was crazy when I mentioned it. But I promise I would NEVER RECOMMEND THEM. Get something else, McDonalds cooks better than them
I wish I could give less than 1 star. My roommate and I were using the app TooGoodToGo (fantastic app by the way, check it out if you want to reduce food waste, but don’t order from here) and we reserved two boxes from this restaurant and were told that our pick up time was 11:00pm-11:59pm. We placed the order around 9:45pm/10pm and weren’t doing anything, so we would’ve been happy to go earlier, but we stuck to the scheduled pick up time given to us by the restaurant/app, which was also no problem - until we arrived. We took a bus and arrived at the restaurant by 11:10pm to locked doors and being ignored, despite multiple open signs being up and lit and arriving at the specified pick up time. When we got there someone else walked up and knocked on the door saying something like “they have orders, they already paid” having noticed our confusion. This was met with “we’re closed” being yelled at us over and over through locked doors - mind you it is also pouring down rain. My roommate and I saw our two boxes sitting on the counter and we attempted to show our phones with the TooGoodToGo confirmation through the glass door, but were continuously told “you gotta go through the app” so as to say “we’re not letting you in, so go through the app and figure out what YOU need to do.” At this point, we realized they really were not going to let us in to receive the two boxes of food we already paid for or to relieve us from the pouring rain despite us arriving on the early side of our specified pick up time. So, we walked back to the bus stop and waited for the bus. Not even a full 5 minutes later, as we waited, we saw the lady that yelled the second remark about the app at us walking away from the restaurant with a bag full of food. Incredibly disappointing experience, and will not return here; we were given no reason to.And all this during BHM??? SMH.
This place used to be so good. Their main cook is gone and it shows. The cabbage is very rubbery and the yams are not sweet at all. I won’t be back unless they get their old cook back.
I'm a jamaican an I'm eating this food right now. There is nothing about this food that's jamaican. The rice and peas is not jamaican rice and peas, and the rice is salty.I bought oxtail, curry goat, jerk chicken and rice and peas.It came to $40.I regret wasting my money at this place the food was not worth the price.I feel bad for people who don't know real jamaican food, and what it tastes like, and think this is jamaican! Smh!All you have to do is put a name on something and people rush into it!Look at my food! This is what's left and I can't even finish it! Kmt!!!Mi did really excited fi eat this food enoh! And think my money was gonna be well spent! But i learn from this, and will never shop at another wanna be so called jamaica restaurant in the U.S again! Bombaclat!
I love the food here however, today’s visit has left me vowing to never return. I witnessed one of the owners sons preparing a dinner for a customer. Now they have an open kitchen concept so you can see your food being dished into the styrofoam container. This man is dishing up food no gloves on and he throws the paddle handle and all in the middle of the pan of rice. Well I was appalled and asked for a refund. I did not want contaminated rice. Long story short they’ve lost a loyal customer. I will also let my church family know because during the Lenton Season we order pans of food from them.
That Was the best chicken I've ever had from them.
