I haven’t had Jamaican Gates in a couple years but I recently ordered some on Doordash and it was amazing! The chicken was so flavorful I didn’t even need the jerk sauce and I absolutely LOVE jerk sauce, with that being said the jerk sauce was thick and spicy, I hate when it’s watery. The cabbage was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The oxtails were pretty fatty but that’s just the luck of the draw with oxtails but they were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Overall I wish I could give them 10 stars because I have not had jerk that good in a long time plus they are reasonably priced! I plan to order again tonight because I could not stop thinking about that meal.
They have very good food and service. They are reasonably priced, especially in this economy. The portion sizes are good. Unlike other places in the area, they're not price gouging people!
I went to Jamaican Hut Reoxtail on 101st & Halsted for the first time last week and was truly impressed with the taste of the food! Ordered catfish with beans and rice with a side order of mac n cheese and sweet potatoes! Everything tasted superb and will definitely be returning in the future to try their oxtails.
I love love there food, always fresh and hot. I get the white meat and there greens are so good and flavorful… there mc and cheese is always on point I literally have nothing bad to say about this place.
I just bought some jerk chicken from this place. It was was to salt and way to hot!!!! They put a lot of red pepper flakes on it….for what? That’s what scotch bonnet pepper is for! Don’t go here!
No spoon, no fork, macaroni extremely dry and call to express my concerns and customer service was horrible. I’ll never order again…it’s all about the money they don’t care about customer service at alllll. Don’t wait your time just go to Jerk Villa where the service and the food is amazing
I placed an orderMy order was 2 whole chicken dinner and 1 fish dinner. The fish dinner came with 3 pieces I only received 2 pieces. I spent over $60.00. I called to get my correct order they refuse to give me the fish.I will not patronize them, they are unprofessional and petty
The mac and cheese and cabbage were good. I did like the jerk wings too. They weren't too small, over cooked or dried out. The oxtails were just ok. I've had better seasoned and way more tender ones at other places on the Southside. I really only tried this place because other places that I like are closed on Mondays.
