We stopped by here yesterday 06/11/2022 night around 10PM. The place was packed with people. The music was awesome! Everything was great! That is until one of the musicians killed the vibe by literally pushing an older gentleman in his 60s off the elvated stage. If not for me and a few other guests that caught him, it would have ended really bad! Noted that there were four other guests on the stage dancing and enjoying the music as well. The musician claimed that the gentleman was too close to the pianist but the gentleman was on the stage less than a minute before the incident. The musician could have ask the gentleman to step off the stage or give the pianist space but instead of asking nicely, the musicians first reaction was to literally push the old man off the elevated stage. This is unacceptable and very dangerous not just for the gentleman but for the rest of the guests nearby.

Table locations are not great for seeing the stage. Music is loud. Bathrooms for ladies are up two flights of stairs. Don't move the chairs or bring an extra one to your table or the security will harass you. Music quality and selection was good. Non-alcoholic drinks ex. Pop are $4 each. $5 cover after ~10pm Not great for bringing corporate guests like it used to be.

Went here twice while we were in town for 5 days, and this place rocked! Incredibly talented musicians and Animal on the drums was worth the price of admission alone! Not sure that his name was actually Animal, but man was he good! Food was quick to come and the beers were cold. Can’t wait to go back in September!

My buddy and I had the best experience at Howl at the Moon this past Friday. The music was awesome and the service was on point! I’m a travel agent and have been to the Howl at the Moon on NCL which have always been exceptional and this venue absolutely blew us away! I’ll be sure to recommend to all my clients that are going to Chicago ?

I liked this place. It's fun and of course, crowded. The live music was good, they had a lady as a singer and her voice was beautiful. Our waitress also did a good job. The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is that when I got my drinks there was more ice than the drink! They have a good menu but to be honest they don't serve as much of a drink that other bars do.If you want to enjoy the music I would go here but if you're just going to drink, probably you can find a better place.

I first visited Howl at the moon back in 2018 and it was quite fun. Sadly, the show has devolved into just requests from anyone who used venmo. (they seemed to ignore anything written down, tip or no tip) There were no witty banters like they used to do between musicians. No altering classical into pop songs, and really nothing aside from just playing a song someone requested. It really lost a lot of the fun. You can't call it piano dueling anymore. It isn't. They just play requests and that's it.To top it off, the floor in front of the pianos was crowded with drunks. I doubt I'll go again. The big tall glasses for drinks were gone, not even the little buckets were still in use. It kind of ruined the anniversary we reserved a table for. We didn't even bother using the ticket we had for a champagne toast. We just left. Might as well just be any other bar now.I gave one extra star since the waitress was quite good. She kept up well. I tipped accordingly.C Clark

One of the most lively places in downtown. I went on St.Patricks day. They had a great band and variety of beers for the occasion. Food was delicious and considering St.Patricks day rush, service was amazing. Staff was really friendly. Overall great experience to be at Howl at the moon?

Everyone who has worked as a bartender on a busy weekend knows that you need to keep a cool head. Not so here. It's too bad because the vibe was great. There needs to be a balance between taking care of your staff but also your paying customers. In a town where the choices are many you'd think they would be more customer focused.

Huge selection of music. This is my go to place for visitors

Very lively, clean and upbeat place. The music is contemporary with good musicians/singers. The food was decent, however there wasn't a broader scope of the type of music I would have enjoyed. All in all, I was with good company, and received excellent service--a great crowd-pleasing place. Would say it's more for 20s-30-something crowd.
